Different sized Pokémon, that being integrated into the story, following Pokémon, photo mode, open world, auto battles… this is so ambitious and fresh
The graphics still don’t look good tho
I love how the version exclusives swap the past vs future theme, with scarlet’s having a futuristic arm cannon and violet’s being a swordsman

klawf, smoliv, and my starter are definitely on my team. they did a good job with these trailers showing me just enough new mons to where i know a few i want, but left enough out to where i’m excited to run into the grass on release day!

I’m going to wait to see evolutions for my full team, but Sprigatito, Grafaiai, and Ceruledge are all definitely my faves so far

Man, pokemon has come far since I was a kid. I remember stopping teams of hardened criminals and eco terrorists. Now we’re stopping school bullies.
The models look great and I’m excited to see the open world aspect and how it plays out.
@daniel maybe just don’t have an evil team, make the villain an actual character in the story, sorta like Volo in Legends but fully realized and they’re an active antagonist for the full game rather than a twist villain

@B K Team Skull are literally just a bunch of street thugs that weren’t even the actual villains in the story. I honestly think Team Yell were a nice distraction, especially since there weren’t really any villains in Sword and Shield until you got to post game. Sure, what Rose did was incredibly reckless, but he wasn’t evil. I don’t think we need to always be fighting giant evil corporations and terrorist organizations.
@B K What about Macro Cosmos though? They were the real villains and everyone seems to forget them.

Ceruledge might be my new favorite Pokémon design. It’s nothing we haven’t seen before, it’s a ghost possessing a thing, but this is the first time I feel like that they really hit the nail on the head with that design concept beyond “it’s a moving sword/sandcastle/washing machine/teacup.”
It’s a suit of armor, which gives a lot more opportunity for expression through gestures and/or movement, and it’s badass on top of that. It’s a spirit of fiery vengeance that made swords out of it’s _own_ ghost energy, and since that’s not a part of the ensemble that means that it _wants_ to cut stuff with them, as otherwise the sword’s wouldn’t exist, very flavorful. It’s also my favorite color, I love purple and the fact the _purple_ fire is emanating from the eyes and out the back of the helmet in a way to look like a plume is super cool.
It’d say my biggest gripe with the design is the massive sabatons that go over the knees, the description on the website says “It uses its quick movements to capitalize on its opponent’s blind spots, then closes the distance to slash its opponent with its large blades.” which I have a hard time imagining that when it has such oversized shoes that look like they’d be cumbersome to move in.
