I have a feeling that the Final Splatfests are basically the developers deciding the plot of the next Splatoon Game.
Splatoon 1 Final splatfest was Callie or Marie, which Marie won so in Splatoon 2 she was still in the good side while the loser (Callie) got into the bad side.

@mochaheart cant help but agree on that. i prefer not to take sides, and I am looking forward to how nintendo has incorporated chaos into the game, but I’m afraid Chaos might take things a bit too far, if you get what I mean.

I love how literally *everyone* saw the beginning about the trailer and went “ugh what game is this who cares”, and then the inkling showed up on screen with a baby salmonid and immediately went “OH GOD SPLATOON 3 CONFIRMED!!!”

@SilverHourH.F look this honestly is unnecessary, unless there’s a new console coming out in 2022. It’s like being a dev and having an early access game blow up and stop working in the project to make a new one just for hype. I own splatoon 2, and it is decent. For me though when I have a beast PC and a PS5 it doesn’t make sense to play a children’s shooter game. You can’t disagree that when the game first launched it was lit but overtime it’s gotten more boring. At first at the events were freaking awesome. Now it’s just furries and children who only own a Nintendo switch and like shooters. If there game was still alive they wouldn’t need to make a third one just for hype.

@Adrian Wiley as someone who owns it, maybe. There won’t be any cool events so you’ll be missing out on a lot of what made this game different. It’s still an okay shooter if all you have is a Nintendo switch though.

Nintendo: We have something for you
So when I first saw everything, I thought that nintendo was trying to go for a post apocalyptic style for a prequel, because the species in splatoon evolved after something happened that killed of all of the humans. Then I remembered that Pearl won the final splatfest and she probably has something to do with the world (at least what we know in splatoon) devolving into total anarchy.
I wouldn’t say the entire world. I would say that maybe 1 or 2 city’s or towns went a little chaotic.
