That retractable lightsaber is better than I ever could have expected, jeez that’s convincing.

@Solid Zane Sense mechanically but sounds like a nightmare for durability. If it is motorized I would have to imagine that it would also work to collapse it.

    • Goji says:

Based on the leaks as well as what we know from the pattent, it’ll likely also retract.
As you said, it uses a similar system to meassuring tape, except you can imagine it more like 2 “u” shaped ones coming together to form a rod while the LED strip unwinds with it.
If it can EXTEND slowly, it can easily retract as it would just have to have it’s motors reverse.
The classical toys were usually spring loaded and dependant on each piece being firmly lodged in the next which is why they had to be manually collapsed.

What I wonder however is how stable this new system is. Cause I’m afraid it’ll probably bend like a meassuring tape does making even light swings difficult.

@Goji thats my fear. Just how long it’ll last or how prone it is to bending damage.

I’ve waited for this day for so long. Now I just need to see it retract back into the hilt and I’ll *truly* believe that WDI are actually wizards pretending to be engineers.

  8. Jasper Blake says:

Name your price Disney, my lightsaber from Savvi’s is awesome, but I need one that retracts like that, literal goosebumps. May the 4th be with you everyone!

Now Disney just needs to release Real Infinity Gauntlet and Stones so I can finally rest and watch the sun rise on a Grateful Universe
