@Mcall PS4 main here and I’m just annoyed my laptop wouldn’t be able to handle it XD
I’m thinking of getting a PSVR at some point, so that’s one thing.

There’s also the fact the director said HOTAS support on consoles isn’t something they’re planning, but they could add it eventually

    • Mcall says:

The Ninja Whippet yeah, I don’t have a 1050ti in my computer so IDK how it will handle this games VR mode but it’s great to see more AAA games focus on VR.

Check out DCS, not ships but planes.

    • Squidfish says:

Check out a game called VTOL VR if you want full intractable cockpits in VR, it is absolutely outstanding

    • Squireson says:

@The Ninja Whippet It’s a shame you still have to use a controller or keyboard to control tho if you don’t have HOTAS

  6. Maxx says:

I played Tie Fighter in the 90’s a LOT and i mean a LOT. This seems like a great spiritual sucessor. The fact tha it will be in VR too is amazing! this looks like the game that teenager me dreamed about.

The EA Play Live video ( ) shows that Ian Frazier, Creative Director at Motive, literally drew pictures from X-Wing/TIE-Fighter/X-Wing Alliance as a fan in the 90s. So those games are going to be a *huge influence*.

    • Andrew Adams says:

Same, I played all the Star Wars fight games back in the day. I’ve been wondering lately why they haven’t remade those games since they were so good, and it seems like an easy way for EA to capitalize on their rights to make Star Wars games. This is the game that I’ve been waiting a long time for…as long as they don’t pull and EA and do something dumb.

    • Sim W says:

I wouldn’t get your hopes up, they don’t make games like we used to play in the 90’s anymore, it’s all about quick unsatisfying game play designed for today’s kids with only minutes of attention span, making them grind to unlock things and then bring in the option to buy things to save time. Xwing etc was great, just simple gameplay, a great storyline where you had to use your own imagination. I used to play for hours and hours, no customization, no upgrades , no sjw bs. I guess I’m just saying be prepared for a pretty shallow experience compared to those old games and don’t get sucked in by the hype and advertising. I’l be buying it, and I’m hoping for good things tho, it’s EA though…. you can’t trust them as far as you can throw them

    • wilhuf tarken says:

@Sim W You know, the entire basis of the Rebellion is to oppose tyranny. That was true in 1977, and in the 1990s during the TF/XvT/XwA era. I agree modern games are needlessly grindy. I’m holding on to hope that maybe this game will actually challenge players with a slightly more technical, ‘crunchy’ gameplay, as Ian Frazier, Motive’s Creative Director says.

  7. Sealion Studios says:

“Solo and AI?” Does that mean theyres gonna be a single player mode besides the campaign?

    Also, where are the B-Wings?

    • Velesův Žrec says:

@Nathaniel DeJarnette Yeah, but i still hope for some new good game from Legends…

    • the grapist says:

@Nathaniel DeJarnette if u-wings have magically made it past rogue one, tie defenders can too

    • Nick Mosca says:

the grapist what about the Tie Strikers? I think they’d make an excellent addition with the B-Wing

    • Nicholas Wong says:

Nick Mosca Tie Strikers we’re scrapped immediately following the battle of Scarif. They are atmosphere only anyways. Can’t go into space. The Defender being a Fighter Bomber along with the comparison to the B-Wing makes the most sense.

    • Sim W says:

      Ever heard of DLC…..?
