@matthew What about the things he accomplished. No matter where the money came from. Forget about the money. No person could has accomplished this regardless of money. He came from wealth like every other middle class person. The amount of money he started off with is nothing special for any average person.

@MrAndersen I think are speaking two sides of the same coin.
Its pragmatic that he does not know how things will work out in the end. Its also bad that he doesnt know how things will work out in the end, if infact spending a few days to asses your trajectory you can correct sooner. I am sure he does this.

@Vincent Velarde I don’t think you’ve got it. Musk knows his goal – he’s told us multiple times. He’s executed many facets – engine development, site construction, design of the vehicle. There are some things he has ideas on and from his team but without testing and prototypes the immediate path may not be clear until that knowledge gap is crossed. He is super agile and will commit to the technology path when the result is proved successful.

@Krossbolt I suppose I dont like being sold an idea not well though out. This project is not one I have much criticism of, but he has sold up alot of his other ideas that are a little far fetched. Granted, if you make 100 far fetched ideas and 2 or 3 of them work out, it can pay off. It certainly has for elon.

This was such a power move for Mr. Musk to give real fans that are genuinely interested and knowledgeable such total access to the program progress and to his thoughts on things, instead of allowing any major news or media organization. They would only try to sensationalize or exaggerate anyway. Well done for asking such insightful questions and letting us see everything unfiltered. This is true journalism.
If the mainstream media conducted this interview, the headlines would be: “Elon violating safety regulations by not wearing safety helmet”

Has to be a great job for construction people. So many jobs they do they have to deal with some idiot designer or engineer whose ideas are crap or basically unworkable. At SpaceX I guarantee that if they can explain why it is bad and how to fix it they are moving up and the problem will be fixed.

I’m an older guy in his 60’s This video is the most interesting interview series I have ever seen. Elon wants us to grow as a Planetary civilization not a specific country or government. He is a true pioneer and it separates him from everyone trying to compete with him.
