I can’t tell you how many compilations of Shannon Sharpe I’ve watched over the years here on YouTube, he was a hell of a ballplayer and a hell of a broadcaster. I’m hoping he gets his own show somewhere but if he doesn’t, any show who can fit him in would be lucky to have him.

He’s gonna be on springhill and probably gonna on Max with Lebron or even showtime with club Shay Shay

For years I’ve been saying that Stephen A & Shannon needs to be on a show together. Hopefully it happens 🤞🏾

He just said like everyone else if he decides to come to ESPN that he’ll have a specific day like everyone else on the show of first take… Stephen A Smith is not looking for a partner he rather have fresh faces every other day on the show to prevent what happened between him and Max and to prevent what happened between skip and Shannon… Shannon is going to have to figure out why he chose to buyout… is to stick with podcasts, have is own talk show in near future, come on first take 1 day out the week like everyone else… he’ll have to figure that out but like Stephen A Smith just said about Skip I’m sure Shannon feels the same way… Shannon and Skip had a disagreement and said something he didn’t like or didn’t like he didn’t have some type of control on show and said Me and Skip just not a good fit together… but does that mean Shannon doesn’t look up to Skip no… Because without Skip there is no club shay shay and the world doesn’t get a chance to see Shannon… he’ll forever be thankful and supportive of Skip whether fans don’t like Skip or not…

Shannon has a podcast club shay shay, so he might just stick with that for now. I think though that the NFL network would be a perfect fit for Shannon because he’s very knowledgeable about the NFL because he played in it. Maybe he could do something on NFL network like he did on cbs and be on the panel discussing the important events going on around the NFL.

    • D Love says:

Maybe Shannon Sharpe opposite of Dan Orlowksy?

    • James Amick says:

@ D Love that’s an interesting suggestion. They both played in some level in football. Obviously Shannon is a hall of famer, dan orlovski was certainly very talented in college. But, they’re both very knowledgeable about the game.

I love the loyalty and great fullness Stephen A. Has. He’s a real one for this statement. Not many out there left in this day and age.

No tv personality gets more respect from me than Shannon Sharpe. The way he handled this situation is a class 99% of us don’t have. He didn’t go off. He didn’t have an outburst live on tv. He didn’t strike Skip and lord knows he could have done serious damage. He did it the right way, quietly and behind the season. Bought himself out and closed the door behind him. His mother would be proud.

I felt the same way around you but the one thing that sucks is he’s out there liking tweets talking down on skip. Just keep it classy man. We all know why it didn’t workout, no need to talk down on the dude who gave you your shot. No matter what happened. Don’t be a diva.

    • David Hutchison says:

And yet he was extremely unprofessional in boycotting and not showing up to work a day after Skip tweeted about Hamlin. I’ve reread those tweets many time and they come across a little insensitive but they weren’t egregious. Even if they were you have to show up to work and do your job. He made the situation 1000x worse and left Skip out to dry. Then the next day, if the agreement pre show was that they weren’t going to bring it up, Skip had every right to interrupt him if Shannon blindsided him with “and I hoped he was going to take it down”. Then he proceeds to act like a child and make the next moments insanely awkward. And now after he announces he’s leaving he likes multiple tweets that are extremely disrespectful to Skip which is nothing short of a betrayal, and now they have to deal with that awkwardness for the remainder of the shows? Shannon is completely in the wrong here. Shannon himself has blatantly said many times that he wouldn’t be the huge media personality he is today if it wasn’t for Skip sticking up for him and giving him this opportunity when FS1 executes strongly wanted to go in another direction. That doesn’t mean that Skip can treat him however he wants, and Skip does interrupt him too much, and Shannon has every right to look for new opportunities and doesn’t owe it to Skip to do this forever, but the way he’s leaving is completely unwarranted. It sucks because I love the two of them together. It’s been my go to sports debate show for the past 5 years. I agree that Shannon is a classy and a good dude, but this is 100% not an example of this.

    • Kevin B says:

@David Hutchison and these “situations” truly only became situations based on Shannon’s histrionic outbursts, which could have been contrived by him as well to use as leverage to be bought out by fox and maybe help bolster his own branding as well. I feel there was a volitional component to his “reactions.” If those differences were debated within the context of the show-I don’t believe there would be a ground-swelling of outrage by pundits and fans alike. The controversy only became one based on Shannon’s dramatic reactions, which again I viewed as,manipulative especially with him being paid not to work aka bought out.

I hope Stephen A Smith knows that many people would tune in to see him and Shannon on a daily basis.

That would be surreal to see Shannon and Stephen A Smith do a segment together

Stephen A, been a long time viewer and fan but I truly never had as much respect and admiration for you after this clip, specifically showing the loyalty, respect and appreciation you showed for Skip, as well as the support for Shannon. Your philosophy, and the above mentioned attributes/traits you displayed are what we all need in this word today. Whether professional/personal relationships, friendships, family matters, work matters, the list goes on and on. I think if more folks no matter who we are, exemplified and displayed what you just did, I truly think we would live in a better world!

Prime example of never forget your roots, never forget where we come from and most importantly treat others as you wish to be treated. I think you never forgetting what Skip did for you really encompasses you as a truly selfless man and that is truly admirable.

I enjoyed you and Skip together years ago and I enjoyed Shannon and skip together for the last 6.5 years but as much as I love Shannon I feel like he went and bit the hand that’s feeding him or at least the hand that was there to help “show antics and (the sets) aside”. You clip showing your admiration for Skip I think proves my point and you and Skip are prob 2 of the the biggest top dogs in the biz so if anything I hope folks understand my point. Much respect brotha and loved your speech!!!

And for heaven sake can we get a special with and skip again even a few days!!! Never knew who to agree with more as both you made solid cases for your opines and arguments

What are you talking about? Shannon Sharpe did not need Skip Bayless..he was a PARTNER. That is why they paid him off when he left. He has his own very successful show and podcast on YouTube and many players won’t come on Undisputed because of Skip but only comes because of Shannon. No! Skip should never have never hit the hand that is sustaining him.

“I want to take Skip’s cohost; I always knew that Skip’s cohost was gonna leave him; I will NOT disrespect Skip Bayless” – Stephen A. Smith

  9. The Professor says:

I actually liked to watch Shannon and Skip go at it. It’s sad to see this partnership had to end. It’s difficult to have a debate show and for there to be an actual debate that’s not scripted. You would hope that there are real issue and disagreement that’s authentic and not scripted we can see play out in real-time.

Shannon deserves more than one day at First Take.. he should get his own show on espn!
