So I was looking for another True Crime YouTuber to subside my restlessness til she uploaded next. & to my surprise I found Megan True Crime, a beautifully talented, funny, TC lover who is from Scotland. As someone who has been repeatedly abused; physically, sexually and emotionally, some days it is enough that I did not grow up to identify as a vampire and abuse/brutalize other people. If you were abused and also are not a vampire…. I’m really proud of us today okay.

That is actually a huge accomplishment honey, so definitely be proud! The cycle of abuse is a thing for a reason- abuse and damage breaks and twists people, and makes them act out the same or worse. If you’re strong enough and kind enough to avoid perpetuating harm, you are ending that cycle with you. You’re showing people that they can be that strong too, and that it’s possible to be different and abuse isn’t an excuse.
Ugh- this one was rough. Like Bailey often says when she covers their life story, I’m also not trying to garner sympathy for the accused. But Roderick’s life was set on just an abhorrent trajectory from day one. And yes, people can change & learn & grow. But sometimes circumstances truly are out of control. Again- NOT excusing the crimes. These kids (which they were) seemed like they were so beaten down by life. Can you imagine the internal pain they had that took them to these extremes? So many generations just destroyed here.
What’s your point exactly ? Many children who have horrible childhoods also grew up to be perfectly normal.
@yara I mean not necessarily perfectly normal unless they had a ton of help/therapy but definitely not everyone with severely traumatic childhoods turned out to become a criminal

This story tears me in both directions because his childhood predisposed him to be f’d up. He had no real role model and our brains are not fully matured until well into our 20s. UGH

I’m confused about how Heather escaped any consequences when it was her who put the idea she was being abused in his head, she also came up with the idea to steal her parents car, told them about the house, and essentially gave them a blueprint for the robbery. So at minimum she shouldn’t be charged with that, but definitely should’ve been charged with accessory after the fact cause I know she saw that blood on them and still decided to leave with them. 😐 htf the two other girls get charged and they really didn’t do nothing but she didn’t? 😑 smdh
