      I was more so referring to how children now rely on technology for the majority of their play. A mere 20 years ago, children used to play outside all day, riding bikes, playing sports and building forts. As a kid, growing up, I had Atari/Nintendo/TV etc but me and my brothers chose to create our own forms of play that didn’t require costly equipment or parental supervision..a lot of our sensory world was nature based and simple.

    Old & in the way now but in 1972 placed 3rd in the NC State Powerlifting Championship at the age of 14. The deadlift was my best & favorite lift. Hated squats though I was strong in that as well.

      @Alejandro Arevalo I find low bar to be a lot better though. They kinda feel like deadlifts. Since I switched I’ve never looked back.

      @Grubby bum Squatting to lift most things is incredibly mechanically inefficient. Whether it’s a bag of concrete or a heavy stone, trying to squat the object up is going to create an unnecessarily large hip moment arm.

      @os terminal Everyone’s recovery is different…I’d find a good physio and religiously work the exercises. Maybe if you injured it working out find a different way of keeping fit.

      @os terminal maybe you are deadlifting too often bro, I was doing it heavy twice a week but my back started to hurt really back. Now I do it once a week, also on my last two heavy sets Im wearing a lifting belt.
      Btw for some people it takes 8-10 days to recover from deadlifting

      I call bullshit. you were either deadlifting too often, or not properly at all. I know lifters well into their 60s that are still dead lifting respectable weight. Deadlifting isnt an ego lift, neither is the squat or press. If you know wtf you’re doing and have one or two credible coaches that are teaching you you can mow your lawn with two lawn mowers at the same time. Lifting increases you bone density with a properly diet and consistency, not the other way around

    TL;DR Don’t do dead lifts unless you actually are 100% sure it’s being done right as it is riskier than other exercises if not.
