From Warner Bros. Pictures comes Matt Reeves’ “The Batman,” starring Robert Pattinson in the dual role of Gotham City’s vigilante detective and his alter ego, reclusive billionaire Bruce Wayne. Starring alongside Pattinson (“Tenet,” “The Lighthouse”) as Gotham’s famous and infamous cast of characters are Zoë Kravitz (“Big Little Lies,” “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald”) as Selina Kyle; Paul Dano (“Love & Mercy,” “12 Years a Slave”) as Edward Nashton; Jeffrey Wright (“No Time to Die,” “Westworld”) as the GCPD’s James Gordon; John Turturro (the “Transformers” films, “The Plot Against America”) as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard (“The Magnificent Seven,” “Interrogation”) as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Jayme Lawson (“Farewell Amor”) as mayoral candidate Bella Reál; with Andy Serkis (the “Planet of the Apes” films, “Black Panther”) as Alfred; and Colin Farrell (“The Gentlemen,” “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”) as Oswald Cobblepot.

Reeves (“The Planet of the Apes” franchise) directed from a screenplay by Reeves & Peter Craig, based on characters from DC. Batman was created by Bob Kane with Bill Finger. Dylan Clark (the “Planet of the Apes” films) and Reeves produced the film, with Michael E. Uslan, Walter Hamada, Chantal Nong Vo and Simon Emanuel serving as executive producers. The director’s behind-the-scenes creative team included Oscar-nominated director of photography Greig Fraser (“Dune,” “Lion”); Reeves’ “Planet of the Apes” production designer, James Chinlund, and editor, William Hoy; editor Tyler Nelson (“Rememory”); and Oscar-winning costume designer Jacqueline Durran (“1917,” “Little Women,” “Anna Karenina”). The music is by Oscar-winning composer Michael Giacchino (the current “Spider-Man,” “Jurassic World” and “Star Wars” films, “Up”).

The Cinematography looks gorgeous. And also, everything else looks sick too!

This one had a much different pace. All the other trailers we very mysterious, quiet. This one was fast, vigorous, outgoing. This one gave us so much more details about the story than any of the other trailers. I heard that apparently in the test screening they said batman mostly talks to himself in internal monologue, but after watching this I’m not so sure. But I do love the semi-comical lines batman provides like “you got a lot of cats”. I get very BTAS vibes, ofc it’s darker but I can see those “genetics”. Again, this character is a blend of multiple iterations of batman! I just can’t wait to go to the theaters and unravel this story!!!!🦇🦇🦇

That shot from the back of the Batmobile when Penguin’s car rolls is perfect

Let’s talk about how Zoe’s voice and mannerisms are incredible 😍
How Paul Dano’s voice literally in every trailer has sent literal chills down my spine ✨
And Pattison Batman voice is just🤌 so subtle and crisp. Not to mention the last shot where he literally shoved that dude into the rail was so smooth it didn’t even look real it was like something straight out the comic🔥

This movie is gonna be great

Got to say, he fit more as a batman than a vampire.

  7. Lucas says:

I like how DC is finally starting to embrace their dark and moody side

This is what movies have been missing with their fight scenes! These aren’t flashy and fast, they flow, they’re slow, they feel HEAVY. I love it.

Agreed. Very well spoken! What you said in contrast to Matrix Resurrection was my main gripe with that movie. I had already accepted the fact that the story was going to not make sense. I watched it with anticipation of good fights. The attacks felt weak. No weight behind the attacks! Sorry for the rant!

The fact that this Batman is like a mix of Bale and Affleck. He can fight and he has a WHOLE movie. This may be my favorite Batman if it’s as sweet as it looks. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽
