The way Salt was narrating it made me expect a heartbreaking conclusion but still it hurt to see. Which made it so much more exciting when he got it very soon after. Salt is such a great storyteller.

Yes. Definitely. Absolutely. The final look at the runners’ current whereabouts is a great addition which i truly hope we get to see in other videos, not just here or just speedrunning but histories of sports like these in general.

How messy would the timeline be if the times were written? Or if the top three (instead of only WR) were shown?
I think the top three idea is great, with #3 just fading out when a new point is added
Took me and my cousin’s like seven years to beat this game, whenever they’d come over we’d grind out some levels on it. Good times
It feels absolutely unreal seeing myself in this video. Although I never quite held a WR, I’d like to think that my personal best time proved to the community that Fade could indeed be contested with, as I made a mistake of about 5 seconds in 8-2 and still came within 3 seconds of his run. It’s awesome to see how much further the community has taken the game since then. BillyJoe is such a talented runner and I’m so happy to see his hard work paying off. Watching this was so nostalgic for me and definitely makes me more inclined to make a return to Mario Wii in the near future and leave my mark for good. >:)
