The cast of “The Legend of Vox Machina” sits down at New York Comic Con to discuss their upcoming Critical Role series—only on Amazon Prime Video.

Premiering February 4 2022 on Prime Video.

The Legend of Vox Machina is an adult animated fantasy-adventure series that follows Vox Machina, a band of misfits with a fondness for boozing and brawling. In a desperate attempt to pay off their mounting bar tab, these unlikely heroes end up on a quest to save the realm of Exandria from dark magical forces. From a sinister necromancer to a powerful curse, the group confronts a variety of obstacles that not only test their skills, but also the strength of their bond.

The Legend of Vox Machina is based on the beloved characters and adventures of Critical Role’s first live-streamed tabletop role-playing game (RPG) campaign.

  2. Abby Rice says:

They reaaaally want us to know it’s not for kids

    • Willeh says:

Oh no, this isn’t a show with “Unnecessary swears” inserted into it.

Don’t complain about it’s rating, which is definitely going to be pretty adult themed. This is taken directly *from* their campaign, which is not family friendly at all. This is going to have lots of blood, gore, swearing, innuendo — everything. And we Critters really wouldn’t want it any other way.

    • E Rad says:

@airlockengage I may be wrong, but it seems as if you don’t have a clue what the source material is. Everything in the video is 100% appropriate to the source.

    • therootb says:

IMO all the swearing sounded really forced. But maybe that’s just a subjective thing.

    • Matthew O'Toole says:

@airlockengage The violence isn’t necessarily being added to the script after it is complete. There are plenty of things available in the original stream for them to use.

Out of Context Spoilers for Briarwood arc, which is included in the animated series

On the stream, they blow off three of one guy’s fingers and tear out another guy’s tongue. HDYWTDT descriptions are often quite brutal. The zombie giants are described in a fairly graphic fashion. The party’s horses meet a grisly end, though the party only hears it if I remember correctly.

    • Matthew O'Toole says:

I have no great desire to see any of the incidents I mention above, but I suspect that some of HDYWTDT moments will be included. They’re big plot events. The brutality in other cases serves to reveal changes in a character as well. The Invincible series leads me to believe that Amazon will have no qualms about such content.

    “Not looking for trouble…”
    *Pulls out a knife.*

  4. SCUBAguypnw says:

A bunch of nerdy voice actors who went from using their voices to work for others to working for themselves bringing new life to their own characters. This is going to be epic.

  5. Red Topaz says:

If I didn’t already have Prime, I would, in fact, get it just for this series.

  6. InanDante says:

Look at those nerds! Seriously look at them – if you can, without tearing up just a bit.
They deserve this all and we deserve the chills for standing by them. 🙂
    CHEERS VOX MACHINA! m/

  7. Jan Kenk says:

I want a “directors comentary” version where you actually see the cast record the lines and the show at the same time just like this

    • DTOM says:

Covid kinda got in the way of that. From what they’ve said, it was *exactly that awesome an experience* in the beginning! But once lockdown kicked in most of their stuff was done individually in their homes.

    • Kathleen Grace says:

There is the a yt series on their channel discussing each part of production from music to animation to voicing and it’s really interesting

    • TheJerbol says:

Not sure that’s how voice acting works, this was a special feature

  8. Matt Wiens says:

I just realized Percy is drinking WINE in that clip. I love him.

    • Derrick Haggard says:

Of course he’d be drinking wine and not ale, whiskey, or beer this is Percival De’ Rolo the 3rd aka Percy and as he’s stated before despite the fact he’s now a gunslinger working as part of a mercenary/adventurers band for hire he’s still “A member of one of Tal-Dorei’s richest, and most influential noble families and should still act and behave like a fine nobleman of society despite his new mercenary/adventurer career.”

    • __________ says:

@Derrick Haggard *Percival Fredrickstein von Musel Klossowski de Rolo III

    • Derrick Haggard says:

@__________ Exactly so of course that as a “proper nobleman who hails from one one of Tal-Dorei’s most influential, richest, noble families” Percy would drink wine like a “proper nobleman” and not drink ale, beer, or whiskey.

    • Zarok Aleon says:

Scanlan made sure it was properly aerated .

    • what the flying fuck ... says:

beer is food. water, wine and juices are drinks.

  9. Betsy says:

Oh hearing Liam’s Vax voice again after so long is giving me life!

  10. gabthegreat01 says:

“To weak to tickle your own pickle,”
    “Are you offering to help?”
    “Yeah -wait! I mean…f*ck you!”
Classic Critical Role right there…February can’t come soon enough!
