Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

My god … the scene where Galadriel finally catches up to Sauron in the Castle, corners him and says … “Hello! My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die” … just breathtaking. Tolkien’s true legacy is finally realised.

I like how she just shouted it out in front of Turin Turambar too. She clearly knows more about pain than Turin

Hearing Galadriel say “I volunteer as tribute.” so Frodo would not have to be in the game, really shows her true spirit!! Moving. Jessica Tolkien really knows how to write a book!

Man, this new Batgirl show looks like they spent a whole lot of money. Love the lead she looks, brave, beautiful, perfect, won’t need any help whatsoever because she is just so strong. Truly original and inspiring!

After Galadriel said “Never compromise. Not even in the face of Armageddon.” I had goosebumps… sir Tolkien you are completely genius!!!

Talking about Armageddon, these guys should have hired Aerosmith to write a catchy theme song for the series, it would have really helped. Maybe it’s not too late.

When Galadriel pulled out her lightsaber and said, “Wakanda forever” sent shivers up my spine. Tolkien couldn’t have written anything better

Man, Glorfindel pushing sauron down a hill while saying “I have the high ground!” Was awesome. So happy to see Tolkien’s vision fully realised. The army of minions booing the defeat of sauron (with the appropriate ‘banana’ here and there) really shows the attention to detail and love for the source material.

The scene were Gimli says : “vabolabo dab dab” than jumps into the portal is amazing. Glad to see that producer read Tolkien’s writings!

  9. Oliver Kujawski says:

Seeing Galadriel with Winnie the Pooh and Piglet, holding hands and singing “Why can’t we be friends?” before they slaughtered all the xenomorphs in the mines of Moria brought tears into my eyes. The true legacy of J.R.R. Tolkien. Dear showrunners you really did deliver!

Man, the moment Anakin looked at Jon Snow and told him, “With great power comes dead younglings” — stunningly brave.
