About “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”
Amazon Studios’ forthcoming series brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness.

Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

“In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie.” – gave me CHILLS! Let’s GO!

    • Queen Beruthiel says:

Hey guys. I don’t get it tho, “THREE ELVEN RINGS FOR THE ELVEN KINGS UNDER THE SKY” and that I assume it’s GALADRIEL who’s literally saying this! I. Don’t. Get. It?
      Help.

    • repatch43 says:

I’m about to commit a cardinal sin: At that line my mind immediately went to “I will see you in a little while, in the place where no shadows fall.” Even Mr. Morden is angry with me right now.

You are only aiding in the destruction of a great mans legacy. You’re not better than an orc.

    • Valihir says:

      She even pronounced mordor right

    • Der Henker says:

@Nerd of the Rings “lets goo” shut up, are you like 12 or something?

  2. Comics Nerd says:

Either going to be a masterpiece or a complete trainwreck, no middle ground for TV shows like this one.

  3. Teh Lurd Of Teh Reings says:

I really they hire Howard Shore to compose the music for this show. He truly is one of the greatest composers of our time.

  4. Men of the West says:

Very excited to see where the show goes! I am quite ready for another adventure!

@Boosie Woosie you seem fun to be around

    • Tom in Iowa says:

@Queen Beruthiel What are the cats telling you?

    • nith shithhith says:

      I hate you.

    • Queen Beruthiel says:

      @Tom in Iowa
Ugh. I have been caught acting out of character online.

Well. Peasant. Currently, I have only two cats. The white one and only a single black cat returned to me. I no longer knew the fate of the other seven.

Question. Is Galadriel a transgender now? Why did she indirectly call herself “Elven king”?

Except if she’s talking about Celembrimbor, but still, he ain’t no king!

  5. Sam McGuire says:

Not expecting anything that’s gonna match the sheer scale of the movies but I’m excited nonetheless to see what they do with the Silmarillion’s stories.

  6. Xarko says:

This made me appreciate Cate Blanchett even more.

  7. Christian Cividino says:

No one can replace Cate Blanchett but Morfydd’s voice has a mesmerizing timbre and elvish quality of its own. The more I rewatch and listen, the more she sounds like a natural fit for Galadriel.

    • John Doe says:

You have a screw loose, there is no wisdom in her voice, no authority. Her character better be a human.

    • eorain says:

I had read so many comments thrashing her and praising Cate’s monologue… that I had to go and rewatch the original.. and I have to say: Morfydd is doing pretty well! Her rolling of the R in Mordor gives chills and overall the intonation and pacing is good and fitting. I’m looking forward to seeing her as Galadriel.. I just hope they don’t make her TOO young-looking.. I mean, there’s a difference of only of few thousand years between this series and the movies.. but surely she had been alive for at least the same amount before this series so… what’s another 3000 years for an elven queen? 😀

    • Kjirstin Youngberg says:

To say nothing of her AGE! She’s just a kid…and sounds that amazing? Buckle up, LOTR fans!
