I ALSO feel like the elevator part was a nod to Ryan Gosling’s Drive when he killed that dude in the elevator.

After the show is over, he always ends up being dragged back into his old ways, a life filled with darkness, addiction, and depression 😔

Smart people: After the show is over, he always ends up being dragged back into his old ways, a life filled with darkness, addiction, and depression.

*My interpretation:* I guess he looks happy on the outside, but when the adrenaline of the show runs out, he feels empty. He yearns for a partner that will love him unconditionally, but can’t find one. When he puts on the glasses, he’s in a state of euphoria. This could symbolize the fact he goes back to his old ways feel the happiness he is missing. (Drugs, Girls…)

  7. Lucas says:

  12. Wavy Davy says:

Whatever spirit took over Kanye during the 808’s & Heartbreak era, has possessed The Weeknd now 🔥

    • Wavy Davy says:

W_is_for_wolfie it started with 808’s and Heartbreak, he ended his school theme, College Dropout, Late Registration, Graduation and it was supposed to be “Good Ass Job” but something changed in him and he released 808s & Heartbreak, then MBDTF all great albums 💯

    • Christopher Hernandez says:

they both have a song named “Heartless”

    • Wavy Davy says:

Jose Rodriguez when I saw The Weeknd in a suit and the whole character he’s portraying, the first thing I thought about was Kanye & 808s and Heartbreak which was about over a decade ago

    • Wavy Davy says:

Christopher Hernandez my point exactly 💯

    • Christian Lezama says:

  15. M A says:

He looked so sad and wild, he really has the potential to be a 10/10 actor if he went in that direction. Idk why but I feel proud of this album and it’s not even out yet, his journey was a long one and how he got here is kind of beautiful. twod.

  16. Yukani! says:

When I first heard this song, it immediately reminded me of his Trilogy which came before all of his pop music that made him go viral. I love that he’s bringing back the dark vibe and all of the genuine/emotional lyrics. Such a talented artist, and a beautiful, broken soul. ♥️

  17. Jamie Owens says:

3:50 Marv in Home Alone 2 when he slips on the slide be like:

  18. Kris Neillie says:

the weeknd is on another level with what hes doing promoting this album

  19. Dotto says:

He smiles to sustain the public image he has, even though you can tell he’s going through something (the face marks). He’s also hypersensitive with hearing, his mind picks up the smallest noises from distances. Then he shows how he goes through things when he’s all alone, his demons tend to put him through a lot. The closing scene isn’t really The Weeknd at all, he’s completely changed his demeanour. Its more like the entities have taken control at this point and anyone close to him will suffer pain too.
