      @Patricia Wickholm France helped the USA get started during our revolution and were critical for our invasion of Normandy… they are definitely one of our historically close allies.

    I was there a few years ago. That is a very beautiful cemetery. The French really, really do a fantastic job maintaining it. I was so happy knowing that the French didn’t forget.

    My grandfather survived D-Day. His sector was Dog Red. He made it to Germany and back.

    My father was also a Veteran who fought WWll. I miss him every day since he died in 2006.

      My dad was the sonar man (ping jockey) on the first mine sweeper that went in to clear the way for our guys to land on Anzio Beach. He passed in 2005 after I had had the privilege of caring for him the last year of his life. I thank God for that year… I’d gladly do it a hundred times over again except he’s at peace, no pain, no meds & waiting on me now. He was a good dad.
