Unfortunately many Uber and Lyft drivers do not read their warranty and insurance policies. Driving commercially voids coverage under most of these contracts.

That’s a bad, bad look for Kalanick. Glad I deleted Uber months ago.

Uber CEO is correct. Competitors will come and drive them out of business and Uber is history. He could have been said, here’s my card, give me a call, and we’ll talk, shake his hand, move on.

  19. Bob Marl says:

An idiot whose only skill in the marketplace is “driving” with no understand of economy and market forces is arguing with the guy who helped create that opportunity for him.
The extend of this guy’s understating of linear logic is limited to “If I have 1 car I make $1X but if I have 2 cars I make $2X and 3 car $3X and so…” and that is how he went out and financed who knows how many cars and ended up with a $97K bankruptcy.
That is not as sad as seeing idiots commenting “way to go, he owned that rich prick.” Failing to notice that the “rich prick” is the reason tens of thousands of people are employed. This is all the result of our failed education system. Instead of teaching and encouraging success kids are taught to hate on success and the successful.

Uber wasn’t supposed to be the equivalent of a taxi service. Uber drivers were supposed to be individuals who already own cars using their free time (and existing car) to pick up and deliver pedestrians who wanted a CHEAPER means of travel.

I am not an Uber or Lyft driver (or any other type of for-pay driver). However, the people who think that Uber is a means to BUY A NEW CAR to use Uber as a career are simply misguided.

To be viable, Uber has to cost less than a taxi. The full-time Uber drivers who are investing in a new vehicle for the sole purpose of using it for Uber have lost the concept that Uber is an alternative. DON’T QUIT YOUR DAY JOB.
