ump thought he got embarrassed so he decided to embarrass himself 1000 times worse lmao.

“I was wrong. I didn’t understand the situation and over-reacted. No one is tossed. Let’s play ball” Said no umpire ever.

@Adam Downey There’s a difference between changing an objective call and changing a subjective call.

    • Russell Curtis says:

@Jordan Davis Actually it’s like a parabolic curve. The umpires have it easiest in the minors. Little League parents feel every one of their kid’s games is on the level of the seventh game of the World Series.

    • Andrew Ryan says:

@Erik L oh I’m not advocating for it. Just pointing it out. I’d tend to agree. But also I sometimes love the whole “I missed that last strike so this next close ball is a strike” thing that happens at times. Adds the human element to a game. Other aspects of old school ump mentality I don’t like as much.

    • Erik L says:

@Andrew Ryan Not a good mindset IMO

      Stupidity & Controversy = RATINGS & MONEY.

As a cricket fan I can’t believe how much power umpires have in baseball. It’s ridiculous. These guys are there to keep things fair between the two sides, not to boss everyone around and be total tyrants!

  4. RyzTheGamer says:

I love the face at the end. He was like. “Oops. Now everyone is going to remember me for this”
Which is true. He could have an amazing career after this but everyone will remember him for the time he got his feelings hurt so he ejected the man who has never been ejected.

    • Vexas345 says:

Well, at least he might be good at ejecting gas into my car.

    • Richard DiDonato says:

That’s the way I think of Scott Barry after he threw out Ryan Howard like 10 years ago in an extra inning game against the Astros.

    • Jim Berry says:

@Sofie Nielsen we can only hope he never umps a real game in his life and has this to blame.

    • Recoil Rob says:

@Sofie Nielsen Right! Let’s hope this little window into his temperament (which obviously is too brittle to be a good ump) is noticed and acted upon properly by the authorities. I know…fat chance…but a man’s got to have hope.

    • Sofie Nielsen says:

Didnt they say he had to do well in spring training to officiate in the actual season, im guessing this doesn’t count as doing well.

  5. Gus Jay says:

This is why J.T. Realmuto is my favorite MLB player. He is so even tempered. I think he was saying to himself (with that smile on his face) “I can’t wait to see this breakdown on Jomboy tonight!”

  6. emwecker says:

This is even more embarrassing for the ump than I first thought. I love the breakdown. Great stuff.

  7. Draft904 says:

That’s the look of an umpire’s face when he knows he’s going to get a breakdown by Jomboy 😂

    • Jim Werther says:

      @Kristopher Wilson
Jeez, then at least he should spell CB Bucknor’s name correctly.

    • Dustin White says:

Omg I lost it when he so ohhh shiiiit at the end

    • quigonkenny says:

That’s the face of an umpire that knows he’s going back to AAA.

      If he’s lucky…

    • Haywood says:

This is just a microcosm of how the ego gets in the way in other areas namely balls and strikes. It’s why the game needs an automated SZ. Of course an ump will give or take an inch or two or more off/on the plate from their bias.

  8. Chris Claridge says:

I love JT’s face when the ball goes rolling by him. He’s like “….why are you down there?”

    • Kit Davidson says:

I saw that too, ha ha ha ha, just the slightest look of confusion as he tries to put 2 and 2 together really fast

  9. Zachary Grouwinkel says:

This is a breakdown I actually needed. I saw the ejection but wasn’t sure why. I thought it was because Realmuto was arguing that the violation shouldn’t have happened. This is just plain ridiculous. Ump just guaranteed he ain’t getting called up to the show.

    • ELT in Japan says:

And that’s just it. We don’t know what the catcher was saying while the pitcher is playing goof with the balls the ump is throwing him.

  10. Morgan Pethis says:

The look on that umps face when he realized he’ll never get called up to ump MLB again is priceless.
