Even though I wanted the American boys to win it’s nice to see another country besides the USA caring enough about baseball to put up players good enough to beat us.

    • FoxWolf says:

I’m not upset that USA lost, like at ‘east they tried, even when they scored the home run in the 8th, they still went straight to the 9th, if it wasn’t for that double play they would of made the comeback and maybe tied the game, if japan didn’t make that double play, and JAPAN, well getting really really lucky barley winning the semi final game, the finals was really good, and I’m happy japan stayed alive, they stayed undefeated 7-0, and they deserved the champion, now being 3 time WBCC good job.

    • WILDEATS says:

Epic battle for sure. No Angels in the outfield this time. Congratulations on a great match up!

I was at Universal Studios at the moment of the victory, and everyone was shouting, clapping, and praising Japan for their victory.
I felt the power of sports, baseball, and Samurai Japan.
    Congratulations on their victory!!!!!!

    • HenryP27 says:

@FreedomFighter2112I mean you still only scored 2 runs. Even if you had your best pitchers, I still think Japan would have won.

    • Guicho 271828 says:

@FreedomFighter2112 sore loser lol, bring the best next time, looking forward! (I’m a troll, I don’t watch baseball usually.)

    • Boss_TTV says:

      @FreedomFighter2112 still woulda loss

  4. Grahm Thrush says:

    That Ohtani slider was insane!

    • Allan J says:

@FreedomFighter2112 Let’s be real here. USA had home field advantage, didn’t have to travel all the way around the world, didn’t have to deal with jet lag, and didn’t have to play back-to-back games, and still lost.

    • arXael says:

@FreedomFighter2112 so I’m guessing the majority owners are non Americans, and set up USA to lose by refusing their American pitchers to play but yet allowing their international pitchers to represent their countries

    • Rhino says:

Trout was expecting a fastball, but got a slider instead

  5. Ricardo Masvidal says:

I’m an Angels fan so this game was a treat to watch. Our two top players finally playing a big game but against each other. Too much for me to handle

  6. Bigrobbvicious1 says:

Badass game ,turner is just on fire ,this japanese team is one of the best teams ive seen in a while in one of the most stacked classics ive ever seen this was a great tournament overall and great for baseball congratulations japan 🤙🏾💯

    • Ed Brown says:

      @FreedomFighter2112 3-2

    • FreedomFighter2112 says:

Let’s be real here. Japan, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, etc…all played their best players from their countries. Meanwhile, USA, didn’t!!!. USA had the worst pitching roster because many of the owners refused to allow the best pitchers in the world from America to compete in this tournament. Imagine if the USA team had Max Scherzer, Jason Verlander, Gerrit Cole, Clayton Kershaw, Max Fried, Walker Buehler, Jacob DeGrom, Trevor Bauer, Zach Wheeler, Corbin Burnes, Aaron Nola, etc…14 out of the Top 25 MLB pitchers were Americans and not a single one played in this event. The other 11 of the Top 25 were from other countries and everyone of them played for their countries. In addition, all of the USA top Closers, which USA has the top 6 out of 7 closers in MLB, not a single one played in the World Baseball Classic. Also, where was Aaron Judge, Bryce Harper, Freddy Freeman, Austin Riley, etc???

That’s just to put things into perspective

  7. Mark says:

The WBC is such a fantastic tournament. Genuinely some of the best matches I’ve seen in a long time. Congrats Japan, お疲れ様です!!

    • MedicArk says:

Their teams won’t let them play in the wbc.

“Ohtani strucks out Trout!” A sentence I never thought I would hear, Congrats JAPAN!!!!

  9. ダニエル says:

At the end of the day, I was really moved to conclude with a match between the world’s best hitter Trout and Japan’s proud pitcher Otani.
    Today reality surpasses fiction

  10. Mason Jarboe says:

You HAVE to love the last pitch of this tournament being Ohtani vs. Trout 3-2 with two outs. Much love to all of the fans and congrats to team Japan!
