Garcia has great hand speed and power. However, his lack of head movement in pressure situations makes him an easy target for the top guys.

    • J kk says:

Congrats Ryan. With due respect Ryan needs more games to get to Gervonta Tank’s level not even his hand speed would save him from a KO.

    • Idunno1344 says:

He does actually use head movement occasionally but it’s not complete like how canelo does it. It’s more lazy movement to avoid some pinches. Still works for him though ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

    • Sir Liam Galvez says:

Although ryan lacks a bit of head movement he certainly is much more careful with his shots in this fight and his defense kind of looks more solid than last fight

    • Carlo Andrรฉ Aguilar says:

Nope. Head movement has pros and cons. Itโ€™s knowing when to use head movement and when to not. If heโ€™s not getting caught, heโ€™s doing a fantastic job.

    • Jcheesesteak says:

@Thomas Cain if Luke Campbell can catch himโ€ฆ so many more fighters are gonna catch him. And 1000% itโ€™s gonna be with him stand tall getting hit by an overhand shot.

  2. kahlib bustos says:

Ryanโ€™s right hand is getting a lot better. I see people pointing out his head movement. Honestly itโ€™s getting better but still needs work. Heโ€™s still rly stiff when he throws punches and drops his hands. However I feel like that right hand straight he was throwing was helping open up that left hook.

  3. Mac10 Intosh says:

How well Ryan boxed, the way he embraced his opponent after the KO, and his post fight press, made me a fan. The kid is a stud.

  4. Dave Osland says:

Ryan’s display of sportsmanship after the KO shows his maturity at his young age.
He’s a force to be reckoned with, though probably never again as a lightweight, but probably will end up as a welterweight.

  5. Silver Shooter says:

    2 takeaways:
    – every body talks about Garcia’s speed and power, but his defensive headwork is the best I’ve seen yet in this fight. Great performance.
    – Sergio is a more neutral ring commentator than Chris Maddox and I appreciate that over the hype

    • Jose Martinez says:

I think Garcia really lacks in his defensive head work. If you go to 1:40 in the second round he sort of starts to panic. I think if he gets pressured at all by one of the top 5 boxers in his weight class heโ€™ll get dropped.

    • FloydWhoElseTV says:

@prince Prince he fought someone that was happy to get a check from top rank

    • FloydWhoElseTV says:

@Richie Cam’ it wasn’t almost like his corner said “The check cleared” after the midway point lol

    • FloydWhoElseTV says:

@Richie Cam’ bro but jabs get annoying . He wasn’t even trying to slip anything. Thats what the line in the ring is for when you are in training. That’s basic training

    • FloydWhoElseTV says:

@Spazz but you reposition your stance. It looked like they weren’t trying to win

  6. Adam Wootton says:

I wouldnโ€™t say the KO was vicious, fortuna quit. Plus Fortuna fought his entire career at 130 or below , Ryan made him come up to 140 and was way bigger.

  7. Gapi P says:

Had doubts over Ryan but he’s improved by a lot in the past few years. His biggest issue was his defence and and he still has some issues in that department but his footwork is much better than it was.

    • Rob Banks says:

      @Thawhid jb

    • Close Prophets says:

@F A maybe but Haney has to worry about Ryans speed

    • F A says:

@Close Prophets Haney will expose him. He shouldn’t take that fight at all. I think Tank should be an easier fight.

    • Close Prophets says:

@Ray Stanton naw he is not ready for Tank at all he should wait another year or two and get even better he should fight Haney and Romero first. Rolly would be very dangerous for Garcia too that fight would go either way. Tank is older more experienced and mature definitely not ready for Tank

    • Gapi P says:

@Satana Jones I think Tank wins too. I’m just seeing improvement in Garcia

  8. Tom Tracks says:

Love how after he knocks him out, Ryan then goes up and hugs Fortuna and says “I love you”….. BRUTAL. LOL… that’s career ending. All business. People don’t realize. Boy is a killer. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ˜„

  9. Andrea Brembilla says:

How did he make a statement?
    The full fight says otherwise.
It was a poor performance tbh…
    Flat footed, no head movement…
You could tell they tried to make him use his jab more but to no actual avail.
Styles makes fights so he might have a slight chance against Devin, but Tank will KO him badly.
