Watch again: Boris Johnson and Finnish President give update after Ukraine meeting

Boris Johnson held a press conference with Finnish president Sauli Niinisto.

The conference followed a meeting between the two leaders, where they discussed historic security assurance declarations in light of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Earlier on Wednesday (11 May), Johnson met with Swedish prime minister Magdalena Andersson, where he set out a commitment to come to Sweden’s aid in the event of a crisis.

      @Cass It’s claimed he said that, not sure that would stand up in court. Looks like Starmer may have broken the law too. The birthday cake meeting really is a nonsense Issue to be honest. If labour had any decent policies they would be in power……

      @JeanJean That would have brought NATO into the war, and there was no security pact expressing explicit military support was in place with the Ukraine. This security partnership with Finland explicitly states the UK will come to Finlands aid.
