Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuFv4iF8wgg&t=1s

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to 😉 Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time. Van life was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

It’s actually fairly tame depending on when they did so. Plus angle of flow rate from tides are easily worked against. You could argue the sharks involved but likely they wouldn’t take interest as tests have proven

I don’t even like putting my feet in the water because it’s too cold. I’d rather be on the boat sipping a Mai Tai

Everytime you guys push yourselves to the limit I always think there’s no farther that you can go – and you always prove me wrong. You two are incredible, not only doing these challenges but also filming them at the same time and we’re all very thankful for the hard work you put into every single video!

  4. Colby says:

Having been to Alcatraz, this swim seems crazy hard. Especially with the temperature of the water and all the waves hitting you in the face. You guys did an amazing job! I have not clicked on one of your video’s faster then this one because it was somewhere i have actually been. Love you guys.

  5. AstroBastro says:

As a competitive swimmer, when Nate asked if the ears went in or out of the swim cap, I am severely happy that Kara corrected him.
