OMG this is the best deal I can get for a cheap laptop

Why wouldnt you want a num pad? Apart from having more space than most business pcs its good for productivity and can have multiple uses, such as alt codes, buyscrips in games or straight up controls (flight in gta). Its a teally usefull feature i wish my x1 had.

What in the hell, I paid 800 marked down from 1100 at Best buy for almost the exact same specs minus a graphics card so it wasn’t a even a gaming Laptop

    • Zack Tyler says:

+Spirit 117 My daily driver work laptop has a great battery and a touch-screen, and comparable CPU and memory as the other machines here. It doesn’t have a gaming-grade graphics card. It would cost me $1200 brand new. For work and school purposes, I would pay the premium for that touch screen every time.

    • hiesenberg says:

+Spirit 117 alot of reasons I bought a Lenovo without a you for 800 for the lightweight and better battery it’s much more practical for college

People bind stuff to their numpad keys, in CSGO for example, it’s common to bind the purchase of guns to keys of the notepad. KP1 to buy an AK, KP2 to buy armor, etc.
Sometimes it’s also used to navigate through menus or to control vehicles where it’s advantageous to have controls in more than 4 directions. Helicopters in GTA V would be an good example for this.

    • Erik Brandt says:

the 17+ i7 GTX 1060 is still available for $1000, so for an extree 2 Cs you get a CPU and GPU upgrade with a monitor that’s 2 inches bigger.

    • Mike Barber says:

+Erik Brandt You are exactly wrong. Memory, HDD, camera and monitor are different. The CPU/GPU are the same.

    • Study Kimchhun says:

Erik Brandt no because gtx10 series laptop now is cheap
      Because there are RTX now

Recommended this laptop to my friend before this video came out and it went out of stock, good thing this was after Christmas!

  15. DeSinc says:

your CSGO results on the walmart laptop are probably due to the 2.2ghz cpu. source renderer basically waits on a single thread and an extra 200-600Mhz on those other laptops is a big fps gain. a 4.3Ghz 7700k will get 600 fps in that spot and it’s almost purely due to the clock speed.
also I actually would really appreciate that numpad. I feel like “gaming” in this instance also refers to “power user” in general and the numpad is really handy. I’m sure I’m not alone in having a tonne of binds set up in just about every single game I play. in CSGO it’s my buy binds, in WoW it’s my raid marker binds and some other misc stuff, and I have OBS keybinds on it too. I thought about getting a numpad-less keyboard but I realised I really wouldn’t want to do without it.

  17. LaZy. B. says:

only 144 hz display …. ONLY!!?

    • Daan Wilmer says:

If you’re referencing the remark at 19:32, the display is “only” 144Hz because it doesn’t matter that it can’t render frames at higher rates than 144fps — it was meant to say that the display was limiting the maximum number of frames you see, not the hardware, so it doesn’t matter that the hardware isn’t faster.

  18. Jerry Rupprecht says:

I thought you switched off the lights so you could see the screen

  19. PlasmaYT says:

    Yeah that’s what I said

As an EVE player, I can confirm this is true (at least when it comes to PLEX trade)
