Officials have identified the western Wisconsin sheriff’s deputy who was fatally shot in the line of duty Saturday evening.
It is very sad!!! I think there should be 2 officers in every car! RIP to her and prayers to the family

@William Mason I understand that. I also understand there’s alot of issues over there with defunding etc. It’s just a shame that these officers can’t have the security needed. I’m from the UK and there’s as many issues here too with ours. However I reckon the gun crimes on police are abit less so not as many fatalilties here but it does happen. Rip to the officers
@Livvy B not enough money to double up cars. If you double man a car then you have 1/2 the amount of coverage. If you double the staffing to comp this then you almost double your budget. Pick your poison.
Law enforcement is unpredictable. You can’t possibly staff it enough for every conceivable incident and if you did then other government operations would fail. Money has to come from somewhere.
I don’t believe that this happened the way they said it did. But the suspect and the witness are both gone.
She probably started the stop before backup could arrive. They call for backup, but they can’t just sit in their cars until backup arrives. Also this is sheriff, which suggest she was in a rural area? Her “partner” was probably far away. Either way it’s sad.
@William Mason ah sorry! I thought you meant that I had bought gender into it. My mistake. And yes I know, sadly they get ambushed even when together but definitely they shouldn’t be alone out there. Traffic stops and domestic calls seem to be the most common ones where the officers get shot or seriously injured.

She was a Deputy here in Penn Co SD. I had a personal interaction with her when trying to help someone with a disabled vehicle. She was a real sweetheart and a true hero. God Bless her and everyone with the courage to defend people, even defending the losers on here celebrating the death of a beautiful soul.
