A Message From Alex Trebek | JEOPARDY!

“Hi everyone, I have some news to share with all of you and it’s in keeping with my longtime policy of being open and transparent with our Jeopardy! fan base. I also wanted to prevent you from reading or hearing some overblown or inaccurate reports regarding my health. So therefore, I wanted to be the one to pass along this information.

Now, just like 50,000 other people in the United States each year, this week I was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Now normally, the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I’m going to fight this, and I’m going to keep working. And with the love and support of my family and friends and with the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease. Truth told, I have to! Because under the terms of my contract, I have to host Jeopardy! for three more years! So help me. Keep the faith and we’ll win. We’ll get it done. Thank you.”

How about doing something useful like donating to a cancer charity or even better volunteering at your local cancer organisation instead of praying to whatever sky monster you happen to believe in

    • Kevo Walker says:

I pray Allah heals you while I donate extra money to the cancer research each month this year

+funk44 How about being less insensitive and considering that maybe some people can’t donate and all they can do is pray?

funk44: Tf is wrong with you? If your not religious, take it as a gesture of good hope fuckhead. Besides, I doubt you’ve donated anything meaningful recently anyways.

I pray you are able to beat this Alex. My younger brother was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in 2010, and sadly passed away in 2011 at the age of 34. I miss him every day. You can do this Alex, fight it with every fiber of your being.

Sadly, everyone I knew who had pancreatic cancer died within a year of being diagnosed  🙁

We love you Alex Trebek, I lost my father to Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, and it isn’t something I’d wish on my worst enemy. For my dad (Craig) he ran a half marathon and then a month or two later he was having chronic back pain, he was diagnosed, and then died two or three horrifying months later. You’ve been a member of our family on TV for decades, so I hope with all my heart that your result is much better. My dad had bad news after bad news after bad news. A couple of nights after he had the tumors in his liver biopsied and before we even got the results that it was Pancreatic Cancer, he threw a huge pulmonary embolism caused by the cancer. He almost died that night, and at times we almost wonder if it would have been better, but he did have time to say goodbye to everyone he knew and loved afterwords. My dad had the worst possible reactions to the chemo, which sent him back into the hospital, and then all they could do was palliative. You and your family will be in my thoughts Alex, thank you for all the years of entertainment, and hopefully there will be many more.

My dad as well had it. They said untreated he had 6 months. It was unfortanently worse than they thought and died 2 weeks later. I have faith in Alex, someone needs to defeat it.

I’m not the most religious but since you asked for a prayer.

    Dear God,
Thank you for my life. Thank you for my families lives. I don’t know what your plan is, but I’m sure it’s the most amazing one. And if you decide that plan includes Mr Trebek, I do hope you decide to make it the most peaceful it can be in whatever your decision would be. Thank you for the opportunities you have given me and thank you for what you my future holds.
In your name I pray, Amen
