An Update from Alex | JEOPARDY!

An Update from Alex | JEOPARDY!

One of the things I have learned in the past six months is that the course of pancreatic cancer treatment is not a straightforward affair. There are always curves and unexpected events.

This summer, because I was making such good progress, we thought I was finished with chemo. That was a bit premature and certainly overoptimistic. I began immunotherapy, but that didn’t go well. My numbers went south – dramatically and quickly.

The doctors are now reexamining my situation, and it appears I will be having more chemo treatments ahead of me. Hey, they worked very well the first time, so we’re expecting good results again.

Please keep me in your good thoughts and prayers. It really means a lot.

      Alex
With God all things are possible

    • A Remedy Project says:

VELMA GEORGE Bullshit. That’d like saying if you fail it’s cuz god wasn’t there for you. Or it’s your fault. You don’t say shit like that to a cancer patient. Cheers.

    • Ephyne says:

@A Remedy Project Not trying to preach, but man, you have an absolute shit attitude on life and faith and it’s projecting really heavily in your words. They were giving a response clearly meant to be comforting, to keep his hopes up and have have faith in something beyond human ability. Some people need that to pull them through. It does not mean that if things don’t work out how we want them that we failed or that God isn’t with us. That’s an egocentric view of the universe. Instead of immediately jumping to negative conclusions, maybe consider this: If things don’t work out, it just means that what we hope for isn’t a part of God’s plan/the destiny that the universe paved for us. Sometimes bad things that happen to us are there in place of something much, much worse (and we don’t even know what could have been) or to prevent further suffering, and sometimes we are given challenges to test the worth of our character or teach us and others life lessons. Instead of getting angry at other people when God is mentioned, since it’s clear you have some beef with that, I suggest working on improving your own miserable outlook.
