Oh well, it doesn’t matter if I am not a playable character in smash, as long as I am the healthiest in the mushroom kingdom because of my sport habits! WAH HA HA HA!

  2. Van Hendrix says:

Who else thinks this channel AWESOME

  3. jeolban hälfte says:

BMI is crap… wow the comments already highlighted this topic a million times,
Okay I guess I’ll go back to my homework vs. writting a paragraph about BMI. Haha

    • Omar Pinon says:

jeolban hälfte you’d have to be more muscular than Dwayne Johnson for Mario to be healthy at his weight and height.

    • KuraIthys says:

      It’s only semi-crap though.
It’s not a perfectly reliable indicator of health, but it does give some broad indications.

Also whoever redefined the lower limit for healthy down to 18.5 from 20 is full of it. XD

      Being underweight is pretty bad.
bmi > 30 is also pretty reliably a sign things are going pretty bad.

The most problematic part of BMI is claiming bmi 18.5-25 means you’re healthy, and 25-30 is unhealthy.
That’s dodgy on many, many levels…

    • 13's Sabrina says:

“bmi > 30 is also pretty reliably a sign things are going pretty bad”

Or that you’re a professional athlete, such as a rugby player.

    • Katrina Payne says:

Can we also add the violation of Square Cube law that BMI makes ontop of the muscle/fat ratio thing?

I mean… if it can be thrown at me for my love of giant robots (Chicks dig giant robots, I dig giant robots) and kaiju… then well… it actually applies even more so to BMI… as BMI takes less of that into account than most Kaiju and Giant Robot shows.

    • C. Han says:

it’s only poop if you’re bodybuilder and/or have a significantly different physique from the majority of the world. for most of the world, it works fine.

  4. Random Passenger Here says:

    KNACK 2 BAYBEE! 10/5 MASTAPEECE

  5. Jackie Jones says:

    #BabyPat

  6. Juan Stamos says:

    clickbait though

  7. GamingBerserker says:

“The princesses tower above the boys”
    They’re one inch taller…

Also “But MatPat” reminds me of MasakoX’s “But Masako!”,they both even end with “unsubscribe”

  8. dshaynie says:

I think the mariokart charts include the carts not just the humans

  9. Mr. Youtube says:

I would like to see a Legend of Zelda Maker.

  10. Oliver Twist says:

I love all of your theories but I really wanted to say one thing about the bmi scale. because muscle also makes up a large amount of some people’s weights, especially since muscle weighs more than fat, many pro athletes are considered obese on the bmi scale because their weight isn’t proportional to their heights, even if they’re extremely healthy. it’s just something to consider it doesn’t really mean much and I’m sure I didn’t phrase it as well as I could have but I just wanted to put it out there.

  11. Ed says:

Before he started calculating their BMI, I had already opened up a tab to compare Rosalina and Peach. XD
The Theorist is strong with this one.

  12. Kessho Lightning says:

I forgot mat had a child now

  13. Memetastic says:

    Wait what

  14. Lumine- Chan says:

Matpat Hey please notice me, I’m on the wait list for the back packs…please tell me they will restock…and I’m soon going to get the popsocket or the patch…
    Thanks for all the merch

  15. Simon James says:

It all makes so much sense now why Waluigi is not in Smash he’s just too BIG for Smash. Well if Ridley made it in Smash then Waluigi will get his chance one day maybe as DLC.

  16. Frank Yang says:

DId anyone else hear lazar beam’s end card music? 11:52

  17. Sarah R Cloud says:

Fookin Wario is 2 inch taller than me, but we weight the same; yet I look slimmer than him!? BULLS-

  18. Mystic System says:

my bmi is overweight/almost obese according to that chart.
    Any exercises i can do?

  19. Sarah R Cloud says:

Just a few problems with the “healthiest characters” thing. . .

    TriiiKill
“You have to take the BMI units with a grain of salt. It doesn’t take into account muscle mass.”

    Me:
“It also doesn’t take bone structure into account. My cousin if 5’7″ & has very small shoulders & hips. I’m 5’7” & shaped like a brick; very big shoulders, wide hips. We could both be in the “healthy” range, but since she is natural so thin, she would be more unhealthy than I would.”

    • Omar Pinon says:

Sarah R Cloud it doesn’t matter for Mario, he weighs 190 pounds. At his height he should be about 120-130 pounds at most, no amount of muscle or bone density can make that a healthy weight. Unless you look like Dwayne Johnson.

    • Katrina Payne says:

BMI also violates the Square-Cube Law.

    • Katrina Payne says:

      +Omar Pinon
I now require Mario fanart done up as though he is being played by Dwayne Johnson.

    • KuraIthys says:

Katrina Payne It does. But humans don’t scale up proportionally with height.
Compare world record tall people with more average sized ones. – not everything scales up in equal proportion.

  20. Nini Johnson says:

    Interesting 🤣
