Mortal Engines Official Teaser Trailer [HD]

Peter Jackson presents an epic new saga. Watch the teaser for Mortal Engines now.

Thousands of years after civilization was destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted and a new way of living has evolved. Gigantic moving cities now roam the Earth, ruthlessly preying upon smaller traction towns. Tom Natsworthy (Robert Sheehan)—who hails from a Lower Tier of the great traction city of London—finds himself fighting for his own survival after he encounters the dangerous fugitive Hester Shaw (Hera Hilmar). Two opposites, whose paths should never have crossed, forge an unlikely alliance that is destined to change the course of the future.

Mortal Engines is the startling, new epic adventure directed by Oscar®-winning visual-effects artist Christian Rivers (King Kong). Joining Rivers are The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogies three-time Academy Award®-winning filmmakers Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens, who have penned the screenplay. The Universal and MRC adaptation is from the award-winning book series by Philip Reeve, published in 2001 by Scholastic.

On board as producers are Zane Weiner (The Hobbit trilogy), Amanda Walker (The Hobbit trilogy) and Deborah Forte (Goosebumps), as well as Walsh and Jackson. Ken Kamins (The Hobbit trilogy) joins Boyens as executive producer. Universal will distribute the film worldwide.

If you’re interested, i’d HIGHLY recommend picking up the books. they’re my all time favourite series and frankly i’m amazed this movie wasn’t made 6 years ago.

    Peter Jackson 👍🏻

    • אביתר שטראוס says:

Is it? It says the director is someone called ‘christian rivers’, and that jackson only produces and writes this movie.

    • אביתר שטראוס says:

Looking at rivers’ imdb page, i can see why they sell it as a ‘jackson film’. The guy is known for working at the art department (whatever it means), and directed only one film in the past.
But on the other hand, he did work a lot on jackson’s other project, so hopefully jackson will give a helping hand. And the trailer, after all, is confidentally made.

Why don’t you go suck his dick faggot.

Peter Jackson’s the man! Peter Jackson didn’t direct the film, but he wrote the script for the film. So the whole film & everything happening in it, is his vision. The only thing he didn’t do is film it. But all the dialogue from the cast, all the vehicles & technology, and everything happening in the film is written by Peter Jackson. A lot of people only know Peter Jackson for Lord Of The Rings, The Hobbit & King Kong, but I highly highly recommend that everyone checks out 1 of his earlier films called ‘Dead Alive’. I think it’s his 3rd film if I’m remembering correctly, and it came out in 1992. It’s a comedy/horror movie, and it is bat shit crazy! I think it got rated as 1 of the goriest movies of all time besides Evil Dead 2, but it’s hilariously funny as well.

    • Frontier_Kittie says:

Oh thank god he didn’t direct it.

  11. Death By Exile says:

Read all the books, hoped for an adaptation. Made my day!

    • Death By Exile says:

But I’m just hoping that it’ll be good and they’ll adapt Predator’s Gold and the rest of the quartet. As long as they stay as close to the plot as possible so that it remains faithful and as it’s own thing, then I’m fine with it. Trouble is, that’s a hard thing to pull off.

    • EmiZ Violet says:

Death By Exile Agreed. She’s a very compelling character. Man, I can’t wait to reread the series now..

    • EmiZ Violet says:

Death By Exile Very hard. And they’ll probably feel pressure to make it not as dark or make her more “likeable”.

    • Death By Exile says:

Well, she’s quite a conflicted sympathetic character. In the novel, she’s first quite cold and brash, but her backstory just makes her more tragic. There’s not much detail about the movie so far, so it’s too early to say (still have a year before this comes out, mind); but even if this movie gets bad reviews and doesn’t make a lot of money, I’m still going to watch it. The visuals alone are enough to make me watch it.

As Expected of Pieck oh, you’re so edgy. Saying nigger on the internet but in real life afraid of black people. Go do our heroin now.

    • PHeMoX says:

Nah, more like one gigantic piece of rust really… Detroit as a city is dying.

    • Jonathan Kehn says:

And a fully automatic machine gun every two feet. LoL

    • MotorCityPhoenix313 says:

PHeMoX no it’s not. Anyone saying that hasn’t been to Detroit in a while.

    • Aaron Lukitsh says:

PHeMoX everyone thinks so. But renovations and innovation still happen here, families move here, people have kids here and start families with the property prices being what they are. Detroit is actually a city on a come back, and when that is finally over everygoddamnbody is gonna want to move here. Michigan seasons are beautiful, magical things and michigan on a whole is a great place to live.

chatboss000 we already clicked on this video to watch it lol why do we need a hook when we’ve got one jammed in our esophagus?!

    • hwXD says:

It’s because of the 5 second unskippable ads. They just role together their 5 sec version with the full one so they don’t have to buy 2 sets of ads. There’s also a chance the 5 sec bit will intrigue you enough to watch more of the trailer/ad, assuming you haven’t specifically sought it out.
