I hope this shows people who say “why dont they just become citizens” like if its an easy thing to do.

  2. Elizabeth Carmichael says:

I am tearing up watching this. I am an immigrant. Born in Seoul, South Korea. I cannot fathom what is is like now to try and immigrate to such an unwelcoming country. As an attorney, I have had the opportunity to help a few people in the immigration process, but because it isn’t my specialty, and because it has gotten so complications, I have had to stop. The America that I know is not the America we are now. God bless America, land that I love. We are moving further away from that America.

And I call BS with the Refugees, specifically from Syria. Stay and fix your country.

My citizenship path will take 14 years. I’m 13. I have 5 more years to go until I will be a citizen of America. Wish me luck

  5. Rho J says:

This is really sad..I understand now why it was so hard for my family to come here

  6. Frankie H says:

my family and i waited 10 years to hear back for the application that we sent in 2001 … we got the approval to for a visa to come to the US in 2011. and finally became a citizen in 2016

I’m ashamed that I didn’t know how hard it was, and that I took for granted how easy it was to get my student visa to study in Canada. That I didn’t understand the sheer amount of privilege I truly have. As an American citizen, I waited 2 weeks. The form I filled out was one page, front and back. You don’t even have to apply until you reach the border in most cases for Americans traveling by land. I’ve gotten countless e-mails a month into my four year program from Quebec immigration telling me I have an expedited path to permanent residency and don’t need to leave. But for someone coming from another country and trying to get to the US, even a student Visa can take years, and even when you get one, you can be sent back 9 days after graduation if you haven’t found a job. That’s not right.

I can barely hear between the music and the weird mics

  9. Captain Kefler says:

Not a terrible video. I’d ideally would like to have the road to citizenship be a more middle ground process (not too easy, but not insane). Obviously I’m no expert on these subjects.

  10. Naddie Err says:

“I dont want a winter wedding” Lol

  11. Lizzie Shoeburt says:

I never knew how lucky I was, that I’m a white female. I could not imagine having to go through this process.

  12. Maxwell Jacobs says:

It should be hard, because if we let everyone in wed get the bad people from other countries in too.

  13. Lorri Bell says:

    Thank you for doing this!

  14. Saphel McKinna says:

I am so glad you guys made this video! I am learning a lot about this in my Liberal Studies class at university. So many people are unaware of the hoops and ladders that migrants have to jump through to come to America. Just by having this video up, it is allowing people to learn and because more aware.

  15. Righteous Shadow says:

The process is difficult for a reason, US always wants the best

  16. prepzb says:

Seems to me these guys should be deported for not knowing simple facts about the place they live. Seriously, how sad.

    This is so sad

  19. Salt!and Pepper says:

If we keep getting Mexican immigrants into America, soon enough America would no longer be diverse

  20. Laura Salazar says:

It took my mom a long time to get her citizenship. She got it this year 😀
