I think education is the key for preventing this kind of things (and many others too). For example in Finland we are taught media literacy in school, woven into the native language & literature studies – to kids and adults, especially since social media became a major thing; teaching us how to tell apart the reliable media sources from the bs, to question and check the background of researches (who funded it, is there a motive etc), and all that stuff but most importantly: that not everything you see/read on the internet is true.

I was taught this in my USA school as well.
I wish Americans were taught this!! Most of what I was taught in school was not accurate. Especially the American history class..
It’s sad that our country is actively lying to us from birth…

Slenderman is literally the one thing I’m TERRIFIED of, he was a big thing when I was younger and everyone used to say he was in the park and I totally believed it 🥲🥲🥲
I had a fear of spiders and bees, I managed to overcome them.
I even have a pet tarantula now that I love. Fearing these animals seems silly to me now.
I hope that you can do the same, maybe even slenderman will become a pushover to you. I mean, he is on stilts so how hard can pushing him over be?
