Inspired by the 1985 true story of a drug runner’s plane crash, missing cocaine, and the black bear that ate it, this wild dark comedy finds an oddball group of cops, criminals, tourists and teens converging in a Georgia forest where a 500- pound apex predator has ingested a staggering amount of cocaine and gone on a coke-fueled rampage for more blow … and blood.
Cocaine Bear stars Keri Russell (The Americans), O’Shea Jackson, Jr. (Straight Outta Compton), Christian Convery-Jennings (Sweet Tooth), Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (Modern Family), Brooklynn Prince (The Florida Project), Isiah Whitlock Jr. (BlacKkKlansman), Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones), Hannah Hoekstra (2019’s Charlie’s Angels) and Aaron Holliday (Sharp Objects), with with Emmy winner Margo Martindale (The Americans) and Emmy winner Ray Liotta (The Many Saints of Newark).
Directed by Elizabeth Banks (Charlie’s Angels, Pitch Perfect 2) from a screenplay by Jimmy Warden (The Babysitter: Killer Queen), Cocaine Bear is produced by Oscar® winners Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, The Mitchells vs. The Machines) for Lord Miller, Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect franchise) and Max Handelman (Pitch Perfect franchise) for Brownstone Productions, Brian Duffield (Spontaneous) for Jurassic Party Productions and Aditya Sood (The Martian) for Lord Miller. The film is executive produced by Robin Mulcahy Fisichella, Alison Small and Nikki Baida.
Looks insanely fun, I love these movies that don’t take themselves seriously, and the fact it’s based on a true story is hilarious
Crazy how Ray Liotta has like 3-4 more upcoming movies left even after his death. What a legend. Rest in piece Ray.
Total Legend
I thought I was tripping when I saw Ray, it’s like seeing a ghost.
Funny because this kind of reminds of Kangaroo Jack and he was in that too
@whyisblue923taken He was 67, people can die at that age
RIP Ray 😪
A movie about a bear high off cocaine that’s also Ray Liotta’s last ever film appearance…
This is cinema.
RIP Ray.❤
@joliecide ok whatever!
@Spiritchaser.747 lol I heard you the first time.
Even Scorsese will admit, this trumps Marvel movies in its cinematic scope.
@eddie joewalt A bear has more personality than a snake…and it has a crazy lookin Liotta….I’m calling it early – a winner!
@Darwin Radke is it a winner or will it crash and burn like “Snakes on a plane!”
It’s like we’re bringing back the spirit of the 2000’s with this one. All for it.
its dumb its fun yup 2004 vibe 😅
I couldn’t agree more.
I know what you mean. This feels like Lake Placid meets The Edge meets Deep Blue Sea plus all the coke from Wolf of Wallstreet. Straight forward premise for bonkers animal/creature horror-comedy fun.
The greatest movie of 2023 is approaching….
Puede ser
@iron Flower revolution how is it controversial it’s a fucking black bear high on cocaine
I think 🤔 movie might get bad 😞 review of bear 🐻 eat drug leader controversial about true story of that
@Alex Hein clearly it has horror and action elements to it lol. It’s not an all out comedy is it? Is the bear going to rip a guys face off and say “whoopsy daisy! Did I do that??” No. It’s a black bear rampaging through a town on a drug fuelled rampage with horror and action. Not to mention the writer and director for the film are great. You can’t judge the movie until you’ve seen it.
@Rattings oh whatever. if film directors want to make cheesy funny movies they can. I find this movie very very funny.
This movie is going to be the biggest masterpiece of all time!
This will be epic like Sausage Party 🤣🤣
This is definitely one of the most movies of all time
This is an absolute comedic masterpiece
This is basically Paddington on cocaine
Its a fecking nature documentally dude!
Comedic? Sir, I abhor you! This is high art! Not to mention a powerful statement against the right to arm bears…
This is going to be a cinematic masterpiece the likes of which have never been seen before.
The fact that this is based on a true story
@Emmy Sea no no. That’s just the story they told the public. THIS film is the truth!! Trust me bro
It says INSPIRED by true events. That means they took true events and completely change it around!
For a short while that bear was the apex predator of the entire continent
@dartmaster501 I know. So was I.
IRL, the beast was nicknamed “Pablo EscoBEAR”, which is the best name ever, I’d go to the cinema just to buy a ticket with that name printed on it. Such a shame they renamed it.
Glad to see Scott Seiss given a chance on the big screen!
@Chidiebere Nwadike Yes! Adore O’Shea and Aldrich!
Same for O’shea
@kb Definitely!
He seems like a good actor too
YES! Best part for me
