Who are Kara and Nate?!
Watch our documentary here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuFv4iF8wgg&t=1s

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we rean out of money and went home to normal life. We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to 😉 Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time. Van life was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎

Don’t forget…50k likes: he shaves; 10k comments: mustache STAYS 🙋🏻‍♀️😉

Happy New Year y’all! Thanks for listening to all of our thoughts 🤍

We are so excited to be back on YouTube and are SO ready for 2022 adventures 🚐✈️

What are you most excited about this year?!

  2. Outliers Overland says:

Good to hear from you guys.
It’s kinda sad that we as YouTubers can’t be ourselves when it comes to our content style.
Over the years we’ve had a no F’s given attitude about the content we create.
I can’t lie, it’s definitely come at a cost but we’ve stayed true to ourselves for what it’s worth.

We shipped our camper to Europe so if you find yourselves rolling around here look us up.

Enjoy Baja, it’s our favorite places to winter on this planet. If you do some YouTube searches you’ll see some of our films.

    Keep the porn stash!

  3. Light says:

I’ve loved this last years content! The jumble of different stuff and fun adventures is what I’m LOVING! The traveling and van life stuff was getting stale, but the complexity lately is very exciting! I truly come here for YOU and not just traveling. Do what makes you happy! That why people are here ☺️

  4. Annette Leivestad says:

I don’t remember when or how I found your channel, but I will say I’ve come back every week and watched most of your videos, not for van life, not for adventure, not for international travel, not for airline experiences or toilet reviews, but because you inspire me, an older AARP mail receiving woman, to get out and go live life joyfully, positively and with passion. So my advice is keep doing you. Y’all do it better than anyone else could do you! Plus you’re fellow Tennesseeans and it’s nice to hear a bit of that mid-TN twang.

  5. Norman Villefort says:

The “Oh my God! We forgot…” indicates a sequel. A nice and spontaneous way to keep us hooked! I love it.

I for one don’t care much about the “planned” content as the dynamic between you two that’s way more interesting to watch; even though I understand the amount of work that goes into planning your content.
I can watch you staring into each other eyes for 15 minutes where you’ll probably just burst out in tears laughing. But those are the little things that keeps a couple, and in my humble opinion that IS the primary label of your Channel.
    I enjoy you guys.

So with that being said.. Kara, give the man a break and have him shave off that ‘thing’ on his upper lip?! 😁

Happy New Year to you guys too, and keep on loving upon each other!! Cheers. 🍾

  6. Kelly Monaghan says:

I have been loving the variety! I love how open and honest you are about each experience. From the stress of traveling, the struggles with van life, and the demands of the physical challenges: you share it all through a lens that makes the viewer feel as though they are right there with you.The channel has given me so many awesome international travel ideas, however, the van life part has made me realize how many unique places there are to see right here in the US! The physical challenges are so inspiring and I appreciate how you take each on with such excitement, often with little or no preparation, and it makes me feel like I can do anything! Thank you for sharing so many parts of your life with us.

  7. Shelly Pratt says:

This year’s theme: off the beaten path (love to see you guys in places nobody goes – undiscovered treasures)

  8. Ryan Buss says:

I just love watching your adventure. Doesn’t matter if it is only in a van, or flying to different countries. Keep up the great content and just do what you love. You guys are great!

  9. Elizabeth Simpson says:

Couple thoughts here: I absolutely LOVE the variety in this channel. I love that there’s van life, international travel, and everything in between. So many times, we’re expected to live inside this box when outside the box is the place where there’s true freedom AND discovery. I’m sure MANY of my “fellow subscribers” will agree with me and say keep the variety coming. We’re going to like, watch, and maybe even share every one. 💛

  10. Ghost of Yharnam says:

I’ll be honest when I say I’ve never really thought about WHAT this channel is but WHO this channel is. “Kara and Nate” is the channel and that’s what I’m here for. I’ll admit I love the van life content the most but your relationship, the way you tell your stories through your videos and your genuine passion / gratefulness / humbleness is what keeps me coming back.

Also, the variety keeps things interesting – I never know what the next video will bring but I ALWAYS know it will be entertaining. Never change guys – or maybe I should say, “keep changing”!
