Two astronomers go on a media tour to warn humankind of a planet-killing comet hurtling toward Earth. The response from a distracted world: Meh.
Netflix really does tend to save their best looking movies for the September-December period
@Adrian Villanueva looking for an Internet fight I see.
As long as we still have power in December – if the Russians haven’t cut off our gas – or an EMF pulse hasnt knocked out the electrical supply, or a massive freak snowstorm hasnt frozen the TV set to the wall, as long as none of that has happened, then I am REALLY looking forward to FREAKING out at the thought of a comet hitting earth.
It’s mostly for Oscar season bruh
As they should this is the best time of the year
Most movie studios release their award contenders in that period.
“Ok so how much of the budget should go to the cast?”
Netflix: Yes
@chris costello Checkmark clowns*
Also Clowns. And actual clowns are not interested
You clearly don’t know how writing works. Sure they got all these actors, but the writing will still be superb
This joke is so old, maybe come up with something. Original on your own
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAVHAVAHAHHAAHHHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!
@Adrian Villanueva except this one’s a dark comedy. The point is the world’s reaction to doom and the denial, rather than about world ending impact.
and Deep Impact was better, imo. Armageddon wasn’t bad, but is was sort of marketed to the ADD’ers and mouth breathers.
the scary part is that this is exactly how the officials and the media will react today. Idiocracy 2.0
@CaptnJack right, the Dems whole playback is fear; fear of covid, fear of the sun, fear of policemen, fear of rich people. Weird how their solution to all these fears is “Give me more power”
@FGC P those have been happening forever in time comrade. You just think its a terrible issue because daddy CNN told you so.
@CaptnJack Yes, that is exactly what Climate Change is. And sure, Australia burned because people smoked.
@CaptnJack 97% of currently publishing climate scientists disagree with you there. And what do you mean “assholes and smoke” cause fires. Has there been a sudden increase in assholes and smoke that are causing wildfires to be more frequent and more severe. In Australia we have seen fire seasons begin to burn more intensely and start earlier over several decades. This is not a debate in the scientific community, only when coal lobbyist funded think tanks infiltrate political discourse and sow misinformation.
Just like how ufos were confirmed and nearly no one discusses them
“We’ve discovered a planet killing comet”
*”Good for you”*
Don’t worry, we got Elon prepping Starship straight for Mars.
I just hear Christian Bale’s rant when I read that, even tho it was in the trailer haha “Ohhhhhh, good for youuUUUuuuU!!”
asteroid != comet
“So how many academy award winners u need ?”
Netflix : YES
Netflix: Leonardo has finally won an Academy Award, so obviously we’re going to cast alongside a bunch of actors who won while he was still waiting for his
@Λίζα Λίζα He should have 20.
HAHHAHAHHAHAHHAAHAHAAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAA!!!!!!!!!
It’s funny cause THIS IS EXACTLY HOW PEOPLE WOULD ACT HAHAH Nonchalant …like they are immortal
@jdm11060 you’re proving the movies point. You’re what the society in the movie is representing.
@jdm11060 have you considered that both of those things are real problems that should be addressed & that it’s not an either/or
@Cody Pruittif you think climate change is the biggest problem right now then you are just a dumbass. Lets go Brandon
@jdm11060 climate change is real obviously, the difference now is that man now has technological influence over climate change. What is normally suppose to take place over thousands of years gradually is now happening within a few decades.
Don’t think so. Look Covid-19 reaction.
this cast omg
I bet 60% of the budget was for the casting omg
Adam McKay calls in his favors lol. He had a ton of cameos is The Big Short as well
see, THIS comment is why they picked the stupid cast. Adam McKay knows you will talk about the cast and not the fact that this movie is about the ACTUAL destruction of the planet due to climate change. But sure, HAHA, Netflix paid for a high-end cast.
Actors are out of jon due to corona so anything comes they take it
🤩
YouTube stuck this on my homepage so I better pay attention. I bet I’m not alone being served this to look at.
Did you a favour.
“This comet could be a trillion dollars worth”
“What’s the point if we are all going to die”
😂😂😂😂
Literally what people think of climate change. Trump didn’t try to buy Greenland for no reason, he tried because it is sitting on a bunch of oil. World leaders don’t care about climate change destroying everything but the fact that it could give them money by drilling for oil in places like Greenland and Alaska.
But we’ll be die rich 🤣
Armageddon meets Idiocracy, minus the deep blue hero stuff.
I wonder if the on coming meteor could serve as an analogy for covid.
