Got to love just how out of control Luffy feels right now. The idea of Gear 5 almost acting like “Toon Force,” and he is embracing it with such joy.

like this is a rare exception where characters going so far off model is intentional and 100% allowable and enjoyable because it’s just going from the normal style to straight-up fluid old-timey cartoon antics, silly smear frames and all.

This is the most unique power up, where instead of getting a new power through rage and anger, he gets it through joy, laughter and freedom. The perfect power up for Luffy whose dream is to be the freest person in the world. Oda has the most creative writings ever
