Japan arguably had one of the toughest groups of the tournament, and came out on top. No matter what happens after this, this is an incredible achievement. Congrats!

Beating one top European team is done all the time. Beating TWO top European teams consecutively within a few days… that shows individual Japanese players dedication to the “beautiful game” and a solid team tactical approach, even if you don’t have as many brilliant individual players as Spain or Germany…

    • Hayden J says:

Well it’s pretty easy to come out on top when you score from out of bounds

@Zig Steenine Unless you’re Japanese, then you getting offended is hilarious. 😂

It’s crazy how Japan wasn’t able to score for almost 50 minutes then all of a sudden they got 2 back to back goals and had crazy unrelenting defense until the end of the game. Truly an incredible team.

I was sad that Germany was eliminated but this Japan team totally deserves the spot. They chased the ball relentlessly at every turn and never let up. Japan played with such heart that it was impossible not to root for them.

This has to be the most resilient team in the tournament. To come back and win from being down to both Germany and Spain is an incredible feat! サムライブルー!

  7. ayaeternity says:

The last 15 minutes, Japan’s defenses were unbreakable.

  8. TheFireGlory07 says:

Japan has an incredible speed. You can’t get too confident playing against them. They don’t play to just make a beautiful performance, they play fearlessly to win no matter who the opponent might be. It’s like they would rather run out of breath than slow down… 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Brazilian dude in here. If Brazil doesn’t make it, I’m for Japan!

  9. Alf Qui says:

So much heart has shown and the desire to win this game. It was amazing how Japan’s defenses were unbreakable even while they were sprinting like blazing bullets in synchronization. Congratulations Japan!
