As a Mint Mobile customer, I’m not thrilled by this announcement. With acquisitions like this, it’s only a matter of time before the prices go up, the quality goes down, and everything that made the smaller company great is gone.

  2. S. Hinze says:

I was a TMobile customer for almost 2 decades and I specifically chose to come to Mint to get away from their unreasonably high prices. I’m not really thrilled about that at all. 🙃

I am…displeased by this turn of events. We’ll all be revisiting this jolly video and commenting in disgust in 2 years when we’re paying twice as much for the same plan and the added “benefit” of T-Mobile’s crappy customer service. I trusted you, Deadpool!

  4. Tony Crenshaw says:

I’m not even a Mint customer (largely because I don’t live in the States anymore), and even I’m going, “WTF.” My heart goes out to all the feeling-betrayed Mint customers out there. 😫😫😫

  5. Barbara Ann B says:

Husband and I are upset. We loved that it was a smaller wireless company. We loved supporting Mint Mobile. We loved Ryan Reynold’s marketing strategy. Let’s see how long before prices go up and quality goes down. They made sure to mention the $15.00 plan, but what about the $30/plan, that is what we have.

Glad I’m not the only one who is incredibly disappointed. Corporate greed will never stop.

What’s the worst thing to happen to America? Corporate consolidation of power. The fewer real options we have, the more it will only hurt the consumer. This is extremely disappointing.

@Matthew peterson Mint was never T-Mobile. Mint runs on the T-Mobile network. The customer service and pricing plans were night and day different. Ford Mustangs and Chevy Corvettes run on gasoline, they’re sold to customers by humans… they’re not the same vehicles.

100% If only we didn’t have two corporatist political parties.

@Vilgax Nah phone companies tend to have really amazing lobbies and have done this since Bell in the 90’s.

    • Kate says:

Happens all the time, but people only get mad when it’s companies they use. However I don’t know how these companies avoid monopoly when we have like two choices which is Verizon and TMobile.

    • Matthew peterson says:

Bro, Mint was T-Mobile before. Mint was on the T-Mobile network. The option was an illusion, kinda.

  8. Shannon Thacker-Gray says:

I literally depend on the mere cost of 15 dollars a month. I swear if it changes I will absolutely be going to another company

    • Mark Gutierez says:

I had TMobile for 3 years and mint for 2 and can assure you that mint is the better product. No complicated settings to switch simcard from device to device and prices were good. I only hope they leave the current state prices alone

    • indetrucks says:

      USMobile 5GB for $15

    • slockhrt says:

So, you plan to pay more (almost certainly) to protest having to pay more than $15? You said that you “literally depend on the mere cost of 15 dollars a month.” That becomes more of moral protest than an economic necessity.

FYI: I’m with Metro (now) by T-Mobile. My plan has improved, but the price is still the same (I think. I have two lines now.), and it is still lower than T-Mobile (who I left for Metro).

      When, not if!

“Unlike the big wireless companies we get acquired instead of acquiring smaller companies in an attempt to create a monopoly”

    • Kate says:

Dude this is like Diageo buying all the liquor brands they can and they bought Aviation Gin back in 2020.

Never thought I would ever have to dislike a video that came from Ryan 😭😭
