Already can picture the tournament hype. This looks great!

Especially when you think of the potential for the major tournaments to be at a full Riot based event with LoL, LoR, TFT, and Project L world championships…

    • Naruka says:

@Leif The first itteration of Project L that they showed ~2 years ago looked like SFV, this looks completely different, along the lines of DBZ, GG strive, Marvel and Skullgirls which are incredibly hype to watch (fast paced ”in your face” action).

    • Leif says:

@Naruka I am not saying this looks like it. I am saying it looks boring like it. Once people realize it has the depth of a puddle on a hot summer day it will be even more boring. I think they did a great job on models and animations though.

    • Naruka says:

@Leif From these ekko pressure/movement options alone the game looks like it has a significant amount of depth.

Of course we don’t know about any system mechanics (looked like there was a parry mechanic but it might just be a ahri-specific thing?). But from these clips alone the game looks very fast paced with a lot of combo/pressure creativity (instead of the classic SFV/MK11 Button->Button->Super)

They seems to have taken the recent arc-sys route rather than the previously mainstream SFV/MK11 due to the success of Guilty gear

Tho I could also be wrong, it’s still a while from now, a bunch of things can change and there isn’t nearly enough info in that video alone to make an idea. But still optimistic just based on the improvement from the clips that were shown ~2 years ago.

I know right, so glad they took inspiration from anime fighting games with the assists and art style. Definitely a big improvement from the alpha footage.

YES. This is what every developer should say. Don’t rush a bad product, take all the time you need to deliver a good one.

Love the art direction! I think this game needs some FLASHY finishers – Its something that really sets the fighting genre apart and gives games a really great opportunity to showcase some personality and style.
