Exactly, what was the point in buying the P1 in the first place? Could have brought a smashed up pure ICE McLaren and saved a shit ton of money.
It’s been reduced to an MP4-12C with a P1 body and a 720S engine. I don’t know, I’ve lost interest now.

Did you watch the last episode? It would be cheaper to build a new battery than buy one from Mclaren
@CG TV im sure the battery isnt the only issue with the system overall though which is why he hasnt considered it, not to mention its gonna take time and effort he cant spare in the moment.
I’m not sure I like the idea of no hybrid at all. You might as well have made a 675LT or even a 650s the fastest mclaren out there at that point. The hybrid system was the bread and butter of the holy trinity. Its barely a P1 without the hybrid system. Hell put an LS in it at this point and save some time and money.
A p1 without the hybrid system is just a stroked 675 with a fancy body kit.
I cant wait to see the end result, but I hope theres a way to keep the hybrid system
Of course there’s a way, at least 160k usd way 😂. Probably he’s running out of time for battery and hybrid system rebuild. Even custom aftermarket battery one must be extra carefully built if he’s not intending to built p1 shaped barbeque grill.
I know it’s difficult, but I wish you had tried to rebuild the battery system.

I fully understand why he ditched it – also the electric power was only meant to help with 0-60 or 0-100 time – but not sure how he is going to start the car because the hybrid battery started the car via the starter motor

Agreed, It’s Rebuild mate, not home brew, as said we know it has it’s challenges, but it would be better if you built it with it
Man the hybrid is one of the key components to the P1. I was really looking forward to seeing this rebuilt, this really takes the “coolness” out of this build now.
Oh man seeing that shell taken apart like that just gives me the shivers and I don’t even own the thing. You have balls of steel taking this challenge on Tavarish, massive respect.
