Incredible off roading capabilities + boxy design = perfection
I’m a little hesitant. They’re showing it off on tiny street/highway tires, and my 20 year old Sequoia has 3 inches of ground clearance on this thing
The angles and good for off-roading and 8.3 inches of ground clearance??? No
@foxxmufasa yeah to it’s credit it has good approach and departure angles, but it has less ground clearance then even a bronco sport
Agreed, have a +1. But it’ll be perfection if they offer a Disel engine. but that’s just me
Glad to see the Land Cruiser got a good bit smaller, and I adore the boxy styling, circular headlights, and the gray tweed cloth interior on the base model!
100% agreed!
It isn’t smaller. It’s the Prado and the wheel base was lengthened
@david heatonthe car is definitely smaller than the previous one. Get your info right please
I think this is the new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, smaller and cheaper than the full size LC. The Prado wasn’t available in the US as Toyota, but is the same Lexus GX series platform, the Prado/GX also shared a lot with the 4Runners. I’m really happy to finally see this model available in the US 😃
Toyotas new generation of cars is amazing
Yeah as long as you don’t plane on keeping it more than 9 years
@Brandon Payneyou haven’t explained why not
Totally agree.
Turbos and batteries
@Brad LeComptenot all of them 🙂
Knocking it out of the park! Especially with the price point!
nice that its cheaper than the 200 was, but 55k is still too much for a simple SUV. Should be starting 35-45k topping out at 55-60k
The only thing I’m worried about is if there may be an overlaping of toyota SUVs since the new Land Cruiser is a significantly smaller than its prior models and assuming the announcement of the redesigned 4runner coming next year. otherwise, I absolutely love the design of this new New Land Cruiser, Though it has gotten a little smaller, it will be more affordable for toyota Land Cruiser enthusiast.
Rumors coming in about 4 runner being scratched off for a few years.
@Shi Pimpproof?
This is the baby landcruiser or the Prado.
@Shi Pimp I highly doubt that the 4runner will be canceled, as it one of most popular vehicles in Toyota’s line up . In addition The 4runner recently had the most units sold in it’s entire production life. It’s too popular of a vehicle for Toyota to get rid of, but with this new Land Cruiser, Toyota will have to destinguish it’s off-roading suv line-up even more. which might be a little more difficult.
Did you consider the 300 series?
This is exactly what the community wanted, I’m enamored that a manufacturer actually listened to their consumers for once, I mean look at that base model interior, it’s shaped modern but looks like it’s from the 90s, wow I’m buying one
and the mark ups by the greedy toyota dealers will be astrnomical …, good luck!
@WingsGeo There are a lot of Toyota dealers that are MSRP-only dealerships. Not saying you won’t see a bunch marking them up, but if you’re willing to wait long enough, you’ll easily be able to find one for MSRP.
The current 4Runner offers a lot more for less money:
– V6 4L natural aspirated vs 4 banger turbo woke (meaning electrified) – life expectancy without a doubt in favor of V6
– 1 inch more ground clearance (9.6 vs 8.7)
– 17 inch wheel vs 18 inch (better suited for off road)
– rear roll down window and hidden wiper VS nada in LC
– the “cheapest” LC is $10,000 more than 4Runner and it’s all hard plastic and cloth seats vs soft surface and synthetic leather in 4 Runner
The base model looks freaking beautiful!
@KITTY MEOW BOO totally agree. And there’s a huge aftermarket for additional goodies to build it out.
Imagine building a small compact suv like this. It would definitely sell like hotcakes, especially here in Philippines.
No 4Runner?
It’s not a small compact SUV, it’s even bigger than the outgoing Toyota Prado
How is it small and compact? That new Landcruiser is bigger than the Fortuner, 6 inches longer and 5 inches wider. Plus the price would most likely be above 5 million pesos.
@Marc Amigable5 million? Nah, this ain’t a Lexus, pal. If the hybrid arrives in the Philippines, the price would be cut in half. Remember, there’s a law that cuts any Hybrid and/or EV’s prices in half or a quarter, and you’re going to be exempted from number coding in Metro Manila.
Cannot wait to own one, thank you for bringing her back! ❤
The base model 1958 edition is going to really be an attractive buy for me. I love manual seats, cloth seats and no power lift gate etc. hard core utilitarian vehicle with a touch of modern. Great job Toyota. Great job!
I agree with you!
