The OG movie cast, the OG movie director, comic accurate art style by an incredible animation studio, & an original score by Anamanaguchi?! The people who did music for the game?! This is the ULTIMATE love letter to Scott Pilgrim as a franchise

  2. Richard trujillo says:

The fact that they still have the entire same cast as the movie is insane, and the mortal kombat theme song made it so much better.

    • Вячеслав Мгновенный says:

u mean like its insane nobody of the cast overdosed or got into accident and stuff?

    • Memnarch says:

@Вячеслав Мгновенный more like they got everyone under contract again. The Movie is from like 2010 or something. Chris Evans would hit the role of Captain America a year after. So, by now, he is in a very different actor price league. VO is probably a lot cheaper, but still! Schedules are tight for a lot of people so getting this paired up this nicely with everyone is going to be a blast!

@orest323 thats what i was thinking lol

  3. Leo Jones says:

The whole thing is made by the absolute dream team. Of course we’ve got the original cast, but we’ve also got Eunyoung Choi and Edgar Wright producing. And most of all, I cannot be more thankful that Science SARU got tapped for this. There’s really no better choice for this kind of style. Never in my life would I have thought my favorite animation studio and one of the most prolific western directors would collaborate like this.

  4. Anderson says:

The most impressive thing was that Chris Evans returned to voice his character. I can’t stop watching this trailer, it’s so good to see Michael Cera as the protagonist.

    • ScottLovesMoviesTooMuch says:

I dunno, I bet he was stoked to further shake off that Captain America typecasting (not that he didn’t love the role, I’m sure. It’s just that homeboy has so much more range than one single type)

    • Dogman says:

@ScottLovesMoviesTooMuch To be fair, he was typecast as the asshole before that lol. I just rewatched Sunshine, and remembered how many roles he played where he’s just a massive douche for no particular reason lol

    • ScottLovesMoviesTooMuch says:

@Dogman Oh, totally. It’s like he jumped from one form of typecasting to another.

    • Juancho says:

@ScottLovesMoviesTooMuch He did amazing on The Losers. I dont remember a single movie he didnt nail the character, such a pro…best of all, hes so humble about it. Very down to earth person.

  5. Khodakadahmi says:

Im always, and forever, going to be a Scott Pilgrim stan and I will never be ashamed. I love the art, i love the movie, the books and the humor is just the greatest. I love LOVE the energy and vibe this story gives off and I’ll always be here for it <3

  6. Silly Goose says:

The anime studio does such a good job telling the story about young adults

I’m excited to see them tell Scott Pilgrim’s story.

  7. Presenex says:

I am shocked they got the entire cast back, I have such high hopes for this now

    • Andrew M says:

I think everyone just loved the project too much. Never heard a single bad word said about this production.

    • Carmenita says:

Ikr?! I was hoping for a 2nd movie what Ramona fights Scott’s exes… but I guess this will do 😅

    • Erich Fiedler says:

Well, they couldn’t get back everyone, they had to recast the Katayanagi twins, mostly because they don’t speak any amount of English, but they could reprise the roles for the Japanese dub

    • McLovin says:

      @Erich Fiedler
Well, I mean they didn’t have speaking roles in the movie anyway, so it doesn’t matter.

    • Big N says:

Directors like: were doing it all over again, but this time just you’re voices because a netflix cartoon is cheaper for me.

      Cast be like : 😖

  8. Eclipse PROJECT says:

It’s like mixing the best aspects from the comic, the movie and the game, the passion can be felt from light years away

    • Peter (realar 2.0) says:

Yeah, this is like the ULTIMATE crossover project to love on ONE PROPERTY. It’s MENTAL how good this looks.

  9. Star G. says:

can we just talk about how freaking amazing it is they got everyone back??? I heard they use to do like get togethers and meet ups as a cast and group messages they still talked in from when they were shooting the show, so it brings such great joy to know they’re all still attached to this project as fans are xD

    • Hitler Loves Anime says:

What’s this about? Also, what anime character is in your profile picture?

    • Amadís says:

During pandemic lockdown they did one of those webcam meetings and nearly everyone was there. It was quite neat. They each replayed some of their scenes, too.

    • One-Take says:

Yeah Chris Evans said in an interview that Edgar Wright basically just had to send out a message “Hey you guys want to do this project” and everyone was instantly like “Yep”

  10. xaiver80 says:

I really believe (I’m probably wrong though) that Chris Evans had the most funny playing Lucas Lee in the movie more than any other role he’s had 😂 😂 he comes across as genuinely enjoying playing the character briefly and it’s still my favorite role he’s done

    • Will Locatelli says:

      “Ha! That’s actually hilarious”

    • DozenMarks says:

I’d be VERY surprised if he didn’t have a good time playing Lucas Lee. Did you see when they did the live script read a couple years ago with as many people that could make it as possible? Evans was even there for that in the middle of all his crazy stuff, and he still busted out that ridiculous eyebrow move while speaking his parts again. You could tell he had a lot of fun with it.
