Tesla Cybertruck DRIVEN!
“It’ll never see the light of day…” So says the perplexed gentleman standing next to what we have just explained is the production version of a pickup with first deliveries at the end of the month.
But here it is, the new Tesla Cybertruck – less a vehicle, more an A-list celebrity, hounded wherever it goes. But you know about the hype already. What you don’t know, is what it’s like to drive. What it’s like to pilot a 3-tonne, 5.7-metre, 875hp spaceship around the roads of Los Angeles…
Fortunately, TG’s Jack Rix has all the answers – as well as an in-depth Q&A with the Cybertruck’s design and engineering bosses on the tortuous development story.
Clear your schedule, here’s 40-minutes on everything that matters.

Lars is one smart dude. We need more of him for sure. Franz, of course, has been a genius forever. Great review.
He loses points for saying it only was 3 tons and can only take a 1 ton payload
This is NOT a review, it’s a promotion for Tesla and Elon. We have no honest reviews anymore !
It’s such a joy listening to articulate engineers
Absolute! Talking with Knowledge and respect! Great!
IN THE FUTURE TRUCKS ARE USELESS AS TRUCKS!
@@billybobbob3003 didnt they always have been?

The engineers segment was probably the best part of this. 👌 So refreshing to hear smart people not dumbing down stuff…
Totally agree! That was incredibly interesting. Just hearing about the hurdles of shaping the body panels with air machining
Totally agree…if we saw more of these people as day to day reps of the brand vs youknowwho…it would be a stronger brand by miles…
Yeah, I think this thing will impress people that pay attention to the utility and engineering
*dumbing not dummying down. Smart people know 😅
It looks like bat Mobil
Loved hearing the designer/engineers talk about it. I wouldn’t necessarily get one but I love the fact that it exists.
I want to hear what regular owners have to say after using one for a year.
Always great to have the people involved in building the thing talking about the process. Also they seem like a couple of nice dudes. Great review
I’ve met and been around Franz’s a few times over the last 5-6 years, and he is a nice guy.
I could listen to the engineers all day. No joke, love innovation
Nice review guys !! Love your work TOP GEAR!!
Absolutely none of the Tesla BS was challenged.
Easily the best cybertruck review on YouTube. Great job!
watch haggerty
Haggerty. You’re in for a treat.
HAGERTY!
I was going to say Hagerty but y’all beat me to it
Watches one review and says it’s the best one…
Should have let the Engineer talk more. He seems so proud and content with the outcome and had plenty of engineering battle stories [& details] to tell.
Not to mention the sacrifices he has personally made to accomplish this, yet hasn’t sullied his spirit one bit.
Top of his game at a innovating tech Manufacturing company yet so cheerful, humble and thoughtful answers.
He took it all in a stride, his attitude is you win some and lose some, but then sometimes the real joy is that surprising gain from an expected loss.
From time to time then comes a vehicle that deserves a 40 min long review. Well done.
