Great to see Nathan in a dramatic acting role. The Rehearsal not only reconfirmed his comedic genius, but also that he has serious acting chops (I’m particularly referencing the scene where he finds his fake son overdosing)
@mikechoe97 don’t know what you mean by “fake son” that was a documentary??
Everyone…”Great actors are able to convince you with their performance that any part of a good story is real.”
Also everyone…”Oh, comedians have to perform live, on a near nightly basis, for years and years, in front of wildly varying crowds all of whom they must convince of the reality of a good story.”
Still everyone somehow…”It’s so amazing that this great comedian is a great actor!”
While I’m not saying Nathan can’t act, I’m looking forward to seeing him in a role other than a guy who graduated from one of Canada’s top business schools with really good grades.
@Nick SwinehartI think he plays that role pretty well though.
@being. Its a nonfiction show where people get to rehearse scenarios of situations they expect themselves to be in eventually, and most of the episodes feature Nathan and another woman pretending to raise a son (played by multiple young actors of varying ages). One episode has Nathan finding the “son” overdosing, and he reacts like a terrified parent would, even though it’s all staged.
Everything nathan does already is so unsettling and now putting a horror spin on it is just gonna make it even creepier. This is gonna be a tough watch but im gonna love every second of it im sure
Great to see Nathan in a serious role. It seems this movie will be about gentrification
Nathan Fielder, Safdie and Miss Stone is a trio I did not realize I needed, but I need it! Can’t wait for this to come out *___*
Nathan Fielder is one of those super underrated geniuses. He is so incredibly ambitious and no one thinks like he does in comedy!
well that’s what happens when you graduate from one of Canada’s top acting schools with really good grades.
I love when trailers left me asking more questions
like, what is this show about?
I do to, but in this case is just confusing. It’s not a teaser. It’s an almost 3 minutes trailer. I should have at least an ideia about what it its but I don’t. I’m passing this one.
@Menca it seems like a pretty straight-forward trailer, a rich couple with a TV show get’s cursed, what else do you need to know?
@Mencanot really
Fielder and Safdie is the collab I didn’t know I really needed in my life. Cannot wait for this.
Love to see Emma back with a movie and tv show
Oh, you’ll be sick of her by January. She’s probably going to win another Oscar for Poor Things.
She’s all over the place, no need to come back🙄
What is she coming back from…?
@Jackson Hole certainly not the wall
@Jackson Hole Her last performance was from 2021
This show feels like it was made for me. I’m so excited to see the first few episodes tonight at NYFF!!!
Please tell me if you liked it after you watch the episodes! The description says “genre-bending”, and the trailer is very intriguing…I’d love to hear what you think!
For anyone who has been following this, this show has been in production for soooooo long I can’t believe I’m finally watching the trailer.
there’s a 0% chance that this show won’t include an absolute mindfuck
