Hopefully Netflix nails it this time. I believe they will.

I’m most impressed by the costume and the cast choices. For me this is one of the first live adaptations where the costumes feel both real and true to source. Also the cast feel believable as their characters (looking at them anyway) as apposed to feeling like they were forced to fit the role. I’m excited about this and I hope they don’t make an M. Night Shyamalan out of it!

We gotta appreciate Netflix for how many times they try to bring the things we love to life, even if they miss a few times

This is how the movie should have looked years ago. Glad to see it being done right, at least from a visual standpoint.

Literal goosebumps. Characters look great. The scenes look nearly shot for shot. and when that theme music dropped I was just done. So excited, please don’t let us all down…like heee who shall not be named once did..

I honestly had happy tears when the theme music came on. I’m so excited!!

Exactly, so many live action adaptions somehow find it necessary to change the source material and give their own spin on it, while all they need to do is simply copy everything. I really hope they give this series the respect it deserves.

I was already in my early 20s when the animated series came out… and I fell in love with the characters and the heart the show had. I hope they can create that same feeling. Besides the animation and the fighting the humor and heart of this show really stood out… Uncle Iroh, tales of Ba Sing Se; and “My CABBAGES!!” is all I have to say.

  7. Haminations says:

I’m cautiously optimistic. I just don’t want to get burned again… I’m excited for this

  8. Ville says:

Looks wise, this is probably the closest you can get as live action to the animation. Although Zuko’s scar could be even more pronounced. It was pretty much a disfigurement in the show, for example his eye lid’s range of movement was restricted due to the scar tissue, but studios are extremely hesitant to give truly disfiguring scars to anyone except villains.

They used the avatar theme! so stoked about this! The actors, atmosphere and costumes seem to be well-picked too, I’m really looking forward to this.

Not gonna lie, I got tears in my eyes when the score started playing, the visuals look INCREDIBLE! Avatar is my favorite tv series ever, this looks … really good. please don’t let me down this time Netflix.

I thought I was the only one!!! :’D This already feels done with more respect, and it feels epic, genuine, and grand. It will be a little different, but I feel the essence will be there. If it won’t, I swear I’ll burn the Netflix headquarters down with everyone in it. The only remark I can make as of now, is that Zuko’s scar seems more like a bruise than a burn, but that’s really nitpicking and I think it might grow on me. The bending already look amazing, Iroh is more uncle-ier and wiser, Sokka seems like a better fit now that he’s moving around instead of just that 1 photo we got. Sokka seems to have a bit of a bigger age gap between him and Katara though looks-wise, but it’s not a nuisance per se, but he’s supposed to be a bit younger than Zuko and he seems similar in age/even a year or so older. Ozai is actually looking threatening and powerful, the Kyoshi warriors, Hei Bai, I’m loving it all!

I started tearing up too!! ❤

    • zeuanimals says:

Kid also looks waaaaaaay younger than Katara. So that’s a thing.

    • Edric M. Jenard says:

@nickv1212 that’s what I’m saying man, hopefully that’s just how it looks initially
