The first book in Jeff Kinney’s worldwide bestselling series comes to Disney+ in the all-new animated adventure “Diary of a Wimpy Kid.” Greg Heffley is a scrawny but ambitious kid with an active imagination and big plans to be rich and famous – he just has to survive middle school first. To make matters worse, Greg’s lovable best friend Rowley seems to coast through life and succeed at everything without even trying! As details of his hilarious – and often disastrous – attempts to fit in fill the pages of his journal, Greg learns to appreciate true friends and the satisfaction that comes from standing up for what is right. Directed by Swinton Scott and written and produced by Jeff Kinney, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” features the voices of Brady Noon as Greg Heffley, Ethan William Childress as Rowley Jefferson, and Chris Diamantopoulos as Frank Heffley.

This looks awesome! Wish they’d gotten at least the parents from the 3 live-action movies to come back but still excited for this… Gives me ‘Peanuts’ movie vibes

I’m watching this in class rn and I’m trying so hard not to burst in laughter cause of looking at Manny’s design

Other than that this animation looks pretty good. It’s better seeing them in motion than in promotional stills. Can’t wait

They should have done this originally! It looks just like the books I’m all for it!! 😊👍 They could make almost all the books into movies with this new animation.

This actually looks good! And just fullfilled my dream of seeing Greg’s drawings in real 3D!

Honestly wish they made a tv series with this animation about the later books because the live action movie already focused really well on the first book(s)

It’s actually really interesting how people here seem to respect and look back fondly on (most of) the live-action films. Usually you see that the other way around. xD

But I did honestly like the original trilogy too, even though I have high hopes for this more cartoony adaptation! It’s loyal to the book’s art style and feel after all, which worked great for the Captain Underpants movie. Both the live-action and animated adaptations can co-exist.

Captain Underpants Actually Had A 3D Adaption And Not A Live Action One, But Okay.

    • Sarang says:

@hudmaceachernatyoutube They never said Captain Underpants had a live-action adaptation, they said the 3D adaptation worked for the movie.

After the Long Haul Movie, this is what we all needed

    I’m pretty impressed.

I’m surprised there hasn’t been an animated Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie until now but impressed with how it’s animated. Great use of CGI while keeping Jeff Kinney’s designs and also even having some 2D parts as well.

I look forward to watching it. Hopefully it’ll be just as good as the live-action ones.
