Your content never disappoints Austin! Thanks so much for all the info, keep up the great work!

  2. Ned Rostram says:

Harvest (Grass), Flash Fire (Fire), Storm Drain (Water), and Lightning Rod (Electric) affected what Pokémon you can encounter in SWSH. Not sure if they still work in BDSP.

    • Kyle Churchwell says:

      Static for electric too
      + Magnet Pull for steel

    • MossBros Tacos says:

      They do work in bdsp

    • Nightmarish Taco says:

Sinnoh is where the overworld abilities functionality originated, so it should work

    • Ned Rostram says:

@Kyle Churchwell Austin John mentioned those abilities in the video, and that is because their on field effects started in Emerald so the community knows more about how they worked. The other abilities I mentioned were first updated in SWSH to allow for Pokémon of specific types to appear more frequently in the wild, and their new effects are less known. I only know about these ability upgrades because Sizzlipede in Galar Route 3, which otherwise has a 1 percent encounter rate, is significantly much easier to find with a Flash Fire Pokémon in your party in SWSH.

    • MiyakoBestGirl says:

@Ned Rostram Does anyone happen to know if Super Luck also has the Compound Eyes effect in these games or not? Haven’t been able to find anyone talking about it, and it doesn’t explicitly state whether it does in the ability text.

  3. REVERSAL says:

    MOM!! That’s me!
Thanks for including me Austin 👍

  4. Ahmenthi says:

“7% is a lot more than you think it is.”
Said in the voice of a man betrayed too many times by shaking grass.

  5. Herminio Figueroa says:

Kudos to those with patience enough to shiny hunt this way…. I’ll keep breeding.

    • Being of Inconceivable Horror says:

@profane ah okay thanks for explaining

    • Baby Jiren says:

this is that even at lower chains the shiny odds are far superior to masuda method given that you already have an x4 odds due to the 4 patches

    • VendettaArt99 says:

@Baby Jiren agreed, but I guess you are kinda limited what you can hunt with the pokeradar method

    • illLuck says:

I am so tired of breeding after sword and shield. I just wanted an actual active method to shiny hunting and I finally got it here. So I’m happy even if it’s still hell because shiny hunting is hell no matter how you do it

    • countrytownify says:

It’ll be good for doubles like Austin got. That way whatever I hunt I can trade with my buddy and vice versa.

  6. Deloen says:

The fact that the box legends appear shiny as they’re doing their fancy animation so you’re super hyped seeing it shiny and it’s being all epic at the same time

    • XXLRebel says:

A shame they couldn’t make the overworld ones appear shiny. That would make it so much more fun. So weird they can do it in Let’s Go but just don’t do it in Sword/Shield and BdSp. Such a weird company man…

    • FrifiTV says:

I just got it. Watch on my channel

  7. Potato says:

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how hard Austin works to give us good content and a good gaming experience? Thank you.

  8. Austin John Plays says:

Note: I misunderstood the datamine and it is 2:4096 DURING Lightstone. 1:4096 base rate.
Video has been trimmed to avoid future confusion, but that was on-screen saying 3. It should be 2.

  9. LtBoosted says:

I think it’s kind of dumb that the shiny charm doesn’t affect wild encounters, but I’m very glad pokeradar is back.

  10. Bribe says:

While watching this video I found that if ur biking up a mud slope at full speed and you turn the opposite direction just before going up the slope, your character will actually ride up the slope backwards. I found this highly entertaining and suggest you all try it☺️
