As a former Marine Corps helo mechanic, and a current GA aircraft mechanic, this is a GREAT deal!! That much stuff could keep a good crew of A&P’s busy for years building working helos and selling parts. I would LOVE to be part of that, if I was closer!

      SEMPER FI LEATHER NECK!!!

It’s GREAT! To this Brother be BLESSED, can you imagine what BLESSING he/they will do!

He was a blessing to the family that bad to bring his remains and destroyed aircraft home by the Brothers who helped him do so AND they themselves could possibly need some of these blessings as well to continue TO WALK IN LOVE and be THE LOVE especially when it seems like NO ONE CARES to give LOVE and these Brothers and their crews DO IT!

Chris, start packing your bags. There is work to be done.

The worst part is paperwork and airworthiness certs etc. This dude doesn’t look like he was great on the paperwork side of things.
To be quite honest, they’re gonna end up weighing in most of this stuff for scrap, or upcycling it as fancy industrial arty installations…… which will make a ton of money cos there’s plenty of exotic alloys involved.
Nobody wants a bunch of sketchy old Super Pumas with their track record of Gearbox failures and crashes…… Sparks just saw an opportunity to get a running and flying Dauphin out of the deal.

I find all of this so interesting, the parts, the whole operation, even the fact that your all very respectful and able to handle the stressful side of it all. A friend of mine spent 2 years in Vietnam with his family so he could find these old factories or hangers burried in the hills full of brand new American chopper motors, still in their crates. He made alot of good friends as he had to make many deals to recover all the bits and pieces. I hope the owner of your deal can unwind and live his life without the stress that he must have. Great job guys, cheers Tracey from Australia xo

Trust your gut. That is worth it in just in the helicopter blades alone. Not even to start with all the other parts and turbines and airframes… you are the epitome of what I dream to achieve. Thank you for allowing us to follow along.

  5. Squish Cabo says:

Just an observation…when the “owner” was walking thru all the inventory..down to the part level, it just reminded me of when you introduced Alan to us as he walked you through his extensive vehicle/parts inventory. You had that crazy “smile” on your face. I suspect this deal will work out just fine. As always, have fun.

  6. Double M welding says:

This deal has massive potential, hopefully this means a lot more helicopter content coming our way soon!

    • Dan H says:

Hopefully all of these parts and airframes are FAA certified with proper documentation If not there just scrap

The beginning of Sparkes Aviation. Great buy and the possibility of having a fleet of helicopters that are able to be multifunctional ie…air tours, Heli skiing in the Salt Lake area, heavy lift, Search and Rescue. The list goes on and on how all these could be utilized. Can’t wait to see where this goes in future videos.

  8. Sean Lewis says:

Back in the late 70’s I worked on the original Puma with the RAF as an Avionics tech here in the UK. The Puma was a good, solid workhorse that was a joy to work on. The later variant in the Super Puma (H225) however did have more than a few reliability problems when used in the North Sea oil industry, mainly with the main rotor-head that resulted in a crash in Norway and in July 2016, 80% of the European fleet was grounded. As far as I am aware, there are still restrictions on their use here. Many companies actually stopped using the type altogether, replacing them with Sikorsky S-92’s. It seemed to me that most of the stock you have here is Super Puma related so i would be sure to check the market for all that before you make a final deal.

    • Limyrob says:

That’s my recollection too. I was wondering how much was ex-North Sea, some of the colour schemes looked familiar. But I believe there is a military market for the 225s becuse of their performance so there could be a lot of value here, and one or two parts could sell for $300,000 so it still looks like an absolute bargain.

  9. Tim Whiting says:

As a former aircraft mechanic, even just what he listed in the combined sounds like there is several million worth of parts there. As long as the stuff is legit, this sounds like the deal of the century!

    • HighMaintenancePS says:

Your not accounting for the logistics and retail costs. Inventory, storage, marketing etc etc.

    • SaucePussy says:

@0Mark0 he said it was worth scrap. I think he was cutting his loses , lots of old parts and imported projects, a shitty lease. It’s not worth the headache for him to clean out the closet. Dave has got this

    • 0Mark0 says:

I think he has made already enough money and was too exhausted to work with the rest of the parts and helicopters while having other storages/hangars so decided to let someone else deal with the stuff while making money out of that deal and selling everything dirt cheap, because at the end of the day your personal health is more important than money.

    • Bo McGillacutty says:

You’d know infinitely better than I but that sounds like just a couple better racks shown here…couple isles. Several M for red white blue coptor alone, naively could be 10’s of millions total.

    • Bo McGillacutty says:

As long as there is a market for them. Much will surely be obsolete or otherwise worthless but wouldn’t take much to pay for it all.

  10. Travis Shakespear says:

Go big or go home, wouldn’t expect anything less from Dave!!
