Minecraft Live 2023: Vote for the penguin!
What’s that splashing around in the dark? Oh! It’s a penguin, one of the three new mobs that wants to join Minecraft! The penguin is a social mob, and you’ll find it waddling around the stony shores biome. A little clumsy on land, the penguin is a strong swimmer when it’s in the water. It’s helpful too, because this amphibious mob can help your boat travel faster!
Vote for your favorite mob from October 13 at 5 pm UTC via the Minecraft: Bedrock Edition event server, the Minecraft Launcher, or on Minecraft.net! Voting is open for just over 48 hours, and closes 15 minutes after the show starts. The winner of the mob vote will be announced at Minecraft Live, so grab your snacks and get ready to tune into the show on October 15, from 5 pm UTC!

If penguins are a tameable mob it could be useful for Nether Highway travel to make Boats travel even faster on Ice.
It’s probably a water mechanic. Meaning that the penguins ‘power’ up only occurs when both the boat & penguin are in water and since u can’t place water in the nether this ability will be completely useless.

This is such a hard vote. I like wolf armor and would prob never lead a penguin around for more speed boating, but i love penguins

I guess it’s kinda cool that they can make your boat go faster but dolphins can make you swim faster and I feel like not many people use boats that much.
Plus after you get elytra there is even less of a use

you guys should definitely add big ships to the game, like the one in this video.
