@TMV420 If you had to start on one, I’d say start with literally 1. I think 2 is better with more value then most in that series and personally fits my goals with the series better, but I think if I were to hyper focus on one that you should start 1 on gamecube/wii with either controls will work great. 3 is a fantastic gorgeous game but I think it might be odd to play that for you without some contexts. And “Hey, Pikmin!” on 3DS is…its the weakest one. It’s not a Sticker Star for Paper Mario, but for the Pikmin community there’s some high hostility towards it for what it should be rather then what it is.
@TMV420 Pikmin can be started at any point in the games, as the story is extremely minor. You’re normally given 1 goal at the start of the game, and everything else is up to interpretation and how you play.
Loved armored core back in the PS2 days. Many many many hours played and cannot express how excited I am for a new entry in the series

@bepisthebenis AC6 will be on pc and the games are easy to emulate.
I only ever play AC last raven in ps2. Growing up started I realise Armored core is really one of the greatest mech ever seeing how it different than other mech game
@Steak lol for sure! the first week of AC games are always WILD. because nobody has any clue what the meta is and everyone’s home-brew designs are clunky and not polished. it’s going to frustrate so many people, but I live for that shit.
@fullmetalfunk good. i love souls. but that is not what these games are supposed to be. they don’t have to reinvent the wheel with AC. as long as the multiplayer elements are there because that’s what has always hooked AC players like myself in for the long haul. I mean, I played chromehounds from release all the way till they shut the servers down. just an updated version of that classic style and I’m a happy guy.
The most important thing that Breath of the Wild did, that they need to carry into Tears of the Kingdom, is the “Looks here’s your tools, there’s the problem, you figure it out” gameplay design. Other games usually expect you to solve problems in specific ways to progress, but BotW only cared if you found a working solution. For example, the shrine with the torches on the rotating cube. You could try to rotate the cube to move the lit torches around the water, or you could just toss down a campfire and light the torches with your arrows.

It’s strange that Dunkey didn’t mention the other Immersive Sims slated to come out in 2023… There’s plenty of games with this kind of design philosophy being made.
Or instead of being a giant open world with nothing but repetitive enemies and puzzles where you “make your own fun” they could make I dunno, and actual proper Zelda game. With real dungeons, bosses, characters, atmosphere and thematically on-point. If I want to play Dark Souls or Skyrim I will play that. I don’t need the worst of both worlds with a Zelda filter.
Botw is trash-tier for a Zelda game. Always will be.
Breath ot the Wild was a VERY bad zelda game, i hope they go back to Ocarina of time or Link to the past !

This is how insane Dunkey’s knowledge of game music is: he puts “Alone In Town” and “Heaven’s Night” from Silent Hill 2 in for like 4 seconds each and it works

‘funny birds have a sword fight with their beaks ROFL’ and ‘Relaxing Space Safari’ are two of my favourite videos. There is an artistry behind both of them that really illuminates the thoughtfulness of all of your work and they show you aren’t afraid of taking risks and doing whatever you feel like on a site where that is usually considered heresy. I love how open for interpretation they are, I always thought the former was a reference to the plot and story structure of Death Stranding. Thanks for everything you do Dunkey.
