I love how this show is almost framed like a reality TV show where there’s 1 contestant and 1 judge.
As an engineer, I miss seeing the math’s, design thoughts, validation, pre testing, etc

yes have to agree, thats half the fun, seing what works and dont, and all that.
tbf I doubt there was as much of that for this project, since it’s just pencil sharpeners and there’s far less that can go wrong
My biggest takeaway from this video has nothing to do with sharpening pencils. I am just seeing one of the luckiest men I have ever observed. He has a phenomenal workshop (which I am super jealous of), but also an amazing and supportive wife. Just imagine being able to do the things you love with the people you love. Thats beautiful, and I would watch this video multiple times just to witness sincerity of their relationship. Wholesome, uplifting, inspiring, educational, entertaining. Sure justifies the subscriber count.

Luck has nothing to do with it; he worked his ass off to learn this stuff and isn’t a slouch, so actually attracted a woman. Women tend to be attracted to guys with lots of potential
I love that the wife is so critical to everything and shitting on the projects.
The “pantograph lathe” is actually a real thing called a tracer attachment for manual lathes and the perfect companion for them is actually a water jet table to cut out the templates needed.
I’m an aerospace engineer and I’m absolutely fascinated every time I watch one of your videos! You’ve taught me a lot about design and fabrication, and I’m amazed that you have the know-how to work on everything yourself from start to finish. Hope to meet someone like you in real life soon!

I strongly assume it was just an act before too. Though now with millions of subscribers, imo I would just drop it completely as a lot of people might not get it and develop a dislike of the other person.

This has to be my favorite channel from all of youtube – from the ridiculous ideas, fantastic execution to the wonderful, dry humor it really has everything.
