The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Charlotte Hornets, 76-68. Victor Wembanyama totaled 9 points, 8 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 3 assists in his professional debut while Julian Champagnie added 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists for the Spurs. Brandon Miller led the Hornets with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 steals as James Bouknight scored 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.

It’s summer league. It’s 1 maybe 2 passes and the go 1v1 and get yours or run out fast breaks. So if he doesn’t see the ball after the first or 2nd pass if there is even a 2nd pass that’s a wrap. Chet had a sweet 1st game, I thought he would have another good 2md game. Dude get the ball In his hands like 3 times the whole game because it was all fast breaks and him pretty much inbounding the ball then by the time he get to the other side of the court the ball was already shot or drive to the hood and now he running back on D and barely just got on O. Shits stupid.

The Spurs as a team is looking good. Penne has been a beast this summer and so has Branham, Barlow is starting to look playable maybe even a real rotation price and Wesley has taken a step forward. Adding them with KJ, Vassell and Sochan is a good foundation, hopefully within 3 years Wemby can be what we think he can be because I think that squad has championship potential. In several years obviously, but the pieces are definitely there

Before the game, I said the Spurs could get a ring or 2 in 5-6 years.
7 first-round Draft Picks over the next 3 years, give Wemby 2 or 3 years to develop, then maybe get a star to fill up a weak position in your roster and lead the team by example and experience, develop this young but very talented and hardworking roster.
They just got themselves a great team for the future, and it seemed effortless.
