Jared “The Real Big Baby” Anderson will collide against Kazakhstan’s Zhan Kossobutskiy in a 10-round main event Saturday, July 1, at Toledo’s Huntington Center. Anderson will fight for the first time as a pro in his hometown, just a few days shy of the 104th anniversary of Jack Dempsey’s historic win over Jess Willard on July 4, 1919, at Toledo’s Bay View Park. Dempsey’s triumph heralded a new era in his illustrious career, and Anderson expects to do the same in his first headlining attraction.

In the 10-round heavyweight co-feature, Montreal-based wrecking ball Arslanbek Makhmudov takes on Nigeria’s Raphael Akpejiori. The Makhmudov-Akpejiori showdown rounds out a doubleheader featuring four undefeated knockout artists with a combined record of 64 wins and 61 stoppages. Anderson-Kossobutskiy and Makhmudov-Akpejiori will be broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+ at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

Teo fought smart. He took his time, and didn’t overreact and get impatient or impulsive. He took his time with his punches and was on point. He seemed very calm and focused. He was very ready. He did a great job in that ring.

So much respect for Teofimo, after that performance He reminded us he is still one of the top dogs in boxing today. And after what He’s been through, it’s a lesson of resilience and mental toughness, I’m really happy for him

Teo came out and made a statement. Damn…. what a dominating performance by Teo. He’s back on top with many options coming his way.

  4. Miami Polo says:

I ain’t gonna lie I got a little emotional when Teo won. That boy went through a lot of adversity. He went through a lot of depression after his lost in his last time as undisputed in lightweight. People counted him out. Love these type of stories. Im happy for him.

  5. REGGY says:

What I liked best is Teo’s patience in this fight, it was beautiful.

  6. Adrian Dennard says:

Man… Teo whipped the tea and crumpets out of Josh. This is what the fight game is all about. He lost to Kambosis… truly went back to the blank chalkboard and put a beating on Josh. Great job Teo!!

  7. Nando L. says:

Lopez was heavily underestimated. Odds were off and somehow got 115-113 wild 🤣

  8. Michel Lopez says:

This is the Teo everyone wants to see, hope he puts all his grief behind and pushes forward to become a bigger champion 🥊

  9. David Fernandez says:

This is why Teo fights who he does. Don’t think I’ve seen a fighter recently that fights to his comp as much as Teo. He was so strategic and timely when rushing in on Taylor, he clearly respected Josh. Teo needs to continue fighting top guys damn the sanctioning bodies.

  10. Zachary Walter says:

Teo showed a lot of greatness tonight. You can feel the stress in his life outside the ring
